Great video, if possible please make another video with an update on how things are going now that everything is connected and up and running for a few months. Do you know if this router gives you the option to use one of the LAN ports as a dedicated wired backhaul when in a mesh setup?

Thank you for the device menu walk through. You've had it a couple weeks, any Pros and Cons? I did notice it was limited on creating multiple SSIDs as desired. I've noticed that some wireless clients don't do well on combined frequencies under a single SSID which is why they include a pre-built IoT option. Let me know what you think and thanks for this review.

So far no complaints. I'm currently working on my IOT wireless network as well as getting the two NAS's configured so I can take advantage of the 2.5gb network.

Any chance this comes with plugs for other countries, or at least would it only require a simple adapter (does have auto voltage switching - my guess is yes but a confirm would be great). Thanks for the video!
@HAVOK

I got this from a vendor in the US. It didn't have additional plugs. However, I would hope if you purchased it in your country, it would include the needed plugs. The adapter that comes with it is 110-240v. Hopefully that helps.

I assume you were capped at about 110mb/s on the file copy for the nas when copying the movies files and stuff over to the nas? How big of an increase did you see in the speed when you switched to 2.5gbe ports? I was wondering cause Ijust got a nas and ordered this Router as well for the same reasoning. :) Let me know!
@HAVOK
@HAVOK 5 ай бұрын
I found a bad cable in my house wiring so the LAN connection to the room that houses the NAS was only a 100mbps connection vs a gig connection. I'm still working on getting that resolved before I can do some speed tests. I also added a 2.5g external network card to the NAS to see what type of speeds I'll end up getting.

Please update whenever you do the test. My computer has 2.5gb Lan port, I can install 10gbps Lan card on my Nas, I'm gonna be using SSDs in my Nas. I need to know what's the maximum possible speed we can get through these 2.5gb ports. Thanks

Hi, thanks for the detailed review! I have two questions about this device, if you could please answer them: 1. Does the Multi-Link Operation (MLO) network combine all the three frequencies (2.4. 5, and 6Ghz) or just 5 and 6Ghz? 1. I have a three story house and I am wondering if I can use two of these devices with the second one on wired backhaul and have a consistent WiFi 7 network with a consistent MLO network just like the Deco products? I am really considering two of these routers instead of going for the BE 63 Deco.
@HAVOK
@HAVOK Ай бұрын
Hi there. Thanks for the comment. From what I see in the settings, MLO on this device combines 5G and 6G. However, the device already combines 2.4 and 5 together as a single network so in theory, it would be all 3 frequencies. As for a backhaul, there is a setting in the system admin to set the devices operation mode to an access point. However, I don't know if that will function as true MLO like you are asking. Hope that helps. Thanks for the support!

I was interested in using this in bridge mode just as an AP. But it’s really disappointing to not see VLAN ID options when configuring wireless networks. So very sad considering the many TP-Link predecessor devices that do.

Hey bro, love the beard. I'm thinking about getting this same router. Can I connect my eero 6e pro mesh systems to this?
@HAVOK
@HAVOK 5 ай бұрын
Appreciate the compliment about the beard and for supporting the video. I don't see why you couldn't add your mesh system to it. If it came down to it, you could always turn off the built in Wi-Fi and strictly use Wi-Fi from your mesh system. I know it may defeat the purpose of the Wi-Fi 7 but I imagine your mesh system is probably Wi-Fi 6 or 6E. Give it a shot and let me know how it turns out.

@@HAVOKafter updating and making upgrades to my network switch and network card in my pc, this completed the upgrade I'm now getting 2000mbs up and down with my pc and on top of that, its perfectly compatible with my existing eero 6e mesh system at no detriment to the connection bandwidth. Beautiful piece of engineering and am not disappointed especially because I got it on sale lmao

@@HAVOK Thank you so much for the video and useful information you provided. I just ordered this router model, but in some of the KZfaq videos, mostly from Chinese KZfaqrs, I saw that they couldn't connect to the 6 GHz channel with devices that had Wi-Fi 6E. That's why I had this question and wanted to make sure if this router supports Wi-Fi 6E or not. My own phone is Galaxy S22 Ultra, which supports Wi-Fi 6E.

It's a 2.5gbps router. You need to have 2.5gig network cards in your systems to take advantage of the added speeds. It also depends on your computer hardware. Mechanical drives will be slower, etc.

It is a Wi-Fi 7 router. Wi-Fi 7 is the name they gave this version of the technology. 6GHz is the frequency band. You have 2.4GHz, 5GHz and 6GHz. This router is a Wi-Fi 7 Tri-Band router which means it can utilize all 3 frequency bands (2.4GHz/5GHz/6GHz). Excellent question. Thank you for asking and I hope I answered it for you. 😀
