With all those trees and high buildings and roofs to maintain a telehandler with a human cage/platform on the front would be invaluable and much safer for working from. Having used them, they really are handy and so much safer than scaffolding etc but it does make it a 2 person job with one driving the machine and the other in the cage. It would help pay for itself both in cost and time savings.

I just wouldn't have the patience for it. I'd get 10 times as much work done, but then again, I'm a full time farmer. He'll be getting more out of KZfaq than il be getting from farming. You have to be careful with home machines in the UK/eu too. Most are NOT suitable for what I would call a normal kitchen temperature in the winter. They don't work correctly below 60f (16c.) You can get ones that are fine but most are not.

I can imagine a larger tractor being a pain in and around the yard and under trees. Also something nice about no cab when you are doing small jobs around the place.

Best way to argue for it with the missus is to talk about safety. That lorry driver was potentially a bit vulnerable had the pallet tilted forward quickly. Using any equipment at or beyond its intended capacity will leave you legally liable to third parties etc and just leads to stress you dont need. Your health comes first - especially with a young family.

The distance from lorry level to floor level probably means a tilt is still needed half way, but maybe you could use a hay bale or something to rest it on

I suggested a spinner quite a while back, as you say, they make driving so much easier and controlled and are cheap. They did say they would look into it so perhaps decided against one for some reason, though can't think of a reason you wouldn't use one once you tried it or possibly they just forgot with so much on.

We always leave the flail mower on when moving pallets which is heavier than any of the weights anyway. Makes a big difference. Yes a spinner would be helpful however it may be that we are getting another machine for loading so will wait and see. 👍

@@TheRestorationCouple The spinners are easy to install and remove so shouldn't be an issue for you to switch it between machines should you get a new machine down the line.

@@C4sp3r123 new one is a loader/forklift so has one fitted. 🤫Might look at one for tractor but as we will be using it less for pallets now may not be needed. Little preview on IG yesterday but hopefully have a video on it next week.

@@TheRestorationCouple For about £20 or less (on Amazon) I would recommend getting one for the tractor, they really do make quite a difference to ease of operation, especially when using any attachment such as mowing both for when using one hand on the controls but also when twisted in your seat for example when mowing along a fence row and you are keeping an eye on the mower's position relative to the fence so are twisted in your seat. You can then easily steer with the remaining hand. It also makes manoeuvring in tight spots such as in the yard much easier as you can turn the wheel much quicker with one. I don't know if you saw my message on your recent hay video and via Instagram, in which I recommend getting a pair of hay hooks for shifting your bales. Again a very cheap tool but incredibly easier for shifting bales by hand and also a lot easier on the body. Do a search on KZfaq for hay hooks and you will find some videos showing them in use and the technique. Another comment I left on you recent JUNGLE AT THE FARM - What's going on in the SECRET MEADOW? video was, Price allowing you are able to get a rear PTO hedge cutter that should fit your tractor, a miniature/compact version of what you see on full size tractors. It would be very useful as it would allow plenty of reach for doing the banks but you also have plenty of hedges that are going to need cutting each year plus various other rough terrain where an articulated hedge cutter on the back of the tractor would be ideal. Though without the safety of a cab a flail one is unlikely to be safe enough for you but you can also get ones known as a finger or sickle bar cutter. There was a bit of other info in the original comment. I saw the Instagram video yesterday - looks nice. Look forward to the future videos.

Think the problem wasn't with the lifting capacity as such as he lifted it off the truck bed. It was the tipping capacity not allowing the forks to tilt back as he lowered so adding weight at the back wouldn't have helped.
