Agreed. The way he accomplished this doesn't really make any sense vs the alternatives like a dozer or just a 8' hydraulic glade behind a field tractor, but this turned out fun and it is what the channel is about!

I move a lot of material with a box blade, drop you scarfires to the first hole to loosen material. Do a cross section before you start so you know were to cut and fill to get the desired slope you want. Need everyone going in the same direction for saftey. Good job moved a lot of material for small eq.

Tim, I once had a scraper with wheels that I made from an old box blade. I also had a hitch on the rear of another box blade that I hooked that one to. I pulled both blades together (both were 6' blades) with a John Deere 790. It was a good way to move a lot of dirt. The 790 handled pretty well. I'm sure my 3046R would have no trouble.

@2H80vids
@2H80vids Жыл бұрын
Yep, I agree completely. Timelapse can be really pointless and is used far too much on KZfaq but, for a job like this, it would actually show the progress 𝒃𝒆𝒕𝒕𝒆𝒓 than normal video footage. I see it used on serious earthmoving channels and the viewer gets a better idea of the progress being made, the faster the timelapse, the better.😁

Awesome video Tim . I was sort of guessing 1-2 days was optimistic. I had my my pond dug/ cleaned out last year. Took months to move big mounds of dirt and level work the material into new locations. Looked like Johnny 5 was doing a nice job disking, Johnny 3 and the flat out were looking good. I agree cab 33hp machines are a little short on pony’s, the 37/39hp turbo models are night and day better at pulling and PTO work. Looks like your off to a good start. What a fun project, love watching it.

Very cool project to watch. I have an RC Airplane runway (you can see in my videos) that has several whoop-de-doos that need leveling and this project is showing me what kind of plan of attack I might need. My only thought was, the box blade tractors could have been filling their front loader each trip as well, and moving a little more dirt.
@frankmoreau8847

Tim explained that on his Facebook page. The time it takes to load the bucket would actually slow them down and leave a rough surface for the next guy to roll over.

I am always amazed at just how much material it takes to fill a hole, and how much there is in a hill that you want moved. Underestimating the amount of material that is involved is always a problem. In Texas I think what you are talking about is Gumbo. We have Black and White Gumbo in the north central. Great Cotton ground. East Texas was telephone trees for eons and this county bordered by two rivers that over flowed their banks before being tamed. Deep brown nice dirt. River bottom on hills. Naturally, our hills in East Texas were bumped up by a big Volcano that sank "into the mud" as the Geo types say. Good farming for the most part, now trees and people. with some ranches and farms. Yes real farmers growing crops of food and flowers. Take care - what a project.
