We went back to Trader Joe's to review every single frozen food item there. You guys love the frozen food section of Trader Joe's because they have very unique food items that appear to be healthy. Many of them are pretty good quality, but many of them have some pretty shady ingredients. The biggest shock of this video is that we did not get kicked out of Trader Joe's, but it was really close at the end. Mad love Bobby...Dessi...and Art! XOXO

Trader Joes has been around for 40 years here in CA. I've got some inside scoop..... 75% of their products are made by natural and organic companies from the natural foods industry; ie: Amy's Kitchen frozen foods, Annies Mac n Cheese, Tofuti, Barbara's Bakery makes most of their crackers, etc......TJs slaps their cute labels on those products. You can find most of the exact items in WFMs and at natural/gourmet markets at a much higher price.

I think you're looking at it the wrong way. Customers should KNOW BETTER and avoid the foods that are bad for us, thus forcing food producers to produce quality food via higher standards. There is no need to use a government institution as our babysitter, especially considering how prone to corruption any entity becomes with such regulating power. Don't forget that an educated populace is what generated demand for new brands that actually paid attention to health and ingredients.
@ashleylala4293
@ashleylala4293 4 жыл бұрын
None of our regulatory agencies are doing their jobs anymore. They are fully owned and controlled by the very corporations they were supposed to regulate. Funny how that happened and even funnier how no one gives a crap. That’s why there have been vaccines that were literally contaminated with broken glass. They have zero liability, why would they bother making them safe? And in the case of contamination, they don’t bother to pull product or notify the patients that received the contaminated batches. It’s a sad state of affairs, the greed has completely taken over the country.

"They have no outside products." Nah dude it's just repackaged other brands. The Whisqey is Evan Walker. The bread is Orowheat. Source: Used to work there and used MyFitnessPal to scan various items when they'd show up new. The UPCs always ran as different name brand products.

It's true. They make deals with makers to repackage it under their own label. The makers love the volume of products they can push. That's how they keep the prices down. In fact, that's how they grew their brand - "Trader". I found out long ago when they changed out my fav dark chocolate bar for their label.

Its been a long while since I bought this item but thought I might share what I did with it: cook chicken enough to really crisp it to hold up to sauce. Then add a bit of leftover cooked chicken ( not breaded ) to stretch the sauce thus its not overly sweet. Toss in some frozen sliced bell peppers ( also from Trader Joes, and frozen broccoli if desired . Pineapple works well in lieu of added veg ). Finally I would add either cashews or sprinkle sesame seeds over top before serving.

I'm not sure if people know this but Guar Gum, Used in so many foods Deactivates Metformin. The most commonly prescribed diabetes medication. They sneak this into everything from sugar free gum, ketchup & several of the items in this video. The crazy thing is that Benifiber IS Guar Gum. The label at the store does not say that is what it is. On the packet used in the nursing home that I worked at as a charge nurse, says that it is 100% guar gum. My doctor suggested I use this as a fiber supplement and wanted me to take metformin. The doctor didn't know...

I made creamy garlic scallops with white wine and added your recommended risotto with the riced cauliflower and butternut squash and it was AMAZING!!!!! Total Yum! I've missed risotto and this was better than the real thing IMHO. Thank you!

Mono and di glycerides are not transfat - these are used by Trader Joe’s as emulsifiers. All the products that contain these are typically seen in the bottom half of ingredient list indicating they are used in less amount.

Love your videos, but it would be really helpful if you also included the sodium values. A lot of wonderful TJ's offerings we've had to put back because the sodium levels of some of them were off the charts.

Thanks - I was wishing we had one (since so many people rave about it) but now I don't care. I'll stick with Sprouts for most of my shopping with a little Frys/Kroger thrown in. Great job as always gentlemen.

Fantastic video. Undercover video recording is not easy at Trader Joe’s. Their employees are always restocking.

Great video as always. Could you do a video on frozen food at Costco? We don’t have Trader Joe in Canada.
