This video is exactly how we feel when we go “home”! Totally relate to this. We sold everything 3 years ago to full time RV but came back for a year to spend time with adult children and grandchildren. We are newer empty nesters. Our youngest son died 4 years ago at the age of 17. We are hitting the road again in 3 weeks and we are counting down the days!! RV life is so good for our mental health since our son died especially and our marriage. We have never been so happy together. Thank you for this video! Made me realize we are “normal” and not the only ones that feel this way.

It’s difficult for sure. I immediately fell back to old habits….making sure dishes and laundry were done, plenty of food, watching tv, etc. You are “normal”. 😀 Safe travels and be well! Karri

as snowbirds we can relate... we giggle like kids when we get home from 6 months away, our 1500 sq foot house seems to massive.

We sold everything and moved into our RV 3 years before the pandemic. We then bought a house and filled it up 2.5 years ago…. I am glad we did as there was a few health issues that sucked and am grateful for the house BUT Guess what…, we are waiting for our new B+ and just gave our kids everything and we are going full time again. I am 63, husband is 71 he works 4-5 months away and we are too old to be apart anymore. We are so friggin excited! Hoping to meet you in the road. Cheers

You had me scared there for a minute. This video really helped my husband and me, as we'll be going full-time sometime this year, selling the house, etc. To know how you felt to get back to a sticks & bricks home was good for us to see. Seeing your children is wonderful and I'm glad you were able to do that and help them get their lives redesigned.

Thanks Patty, We were originally hesitant on making this video but after a week of being in a house again, thought it may help someone on the fence to get an honest assessment of making the short term trade. We love being with the kids - BUT definitely know we made the right choice for us by choosing our RV life!

went cross country in my rv and loved it, made mistake and bought a house now... 3 months and hate all the bs and neighbors. selling it and going back to the peacefull desert of the southwest. 👍

We live in Central Vermont. We have three kids, two of them and our young grandson live nearby. We retire in a year and our oldest daughter with our grandson has shown an interest in coming with us so we are going to scope things out down south.

We moved from Oregon to SC 5 years ago to redesign our life. Absolutely love it here. We just sold our 4000 sqft home on 5 acres and we are downsizing to a 2000 sqft home on 1 acre to get ready for retirement. I wanted to go full time, but lovey is having a hard time with the full time concept and wants to try most time with a place to land from time to time. I make sure she is in ear shot when I watch your videos and I think she is warming up to the full time life. I will accommodate her with baby steps, but my goal is to go full time.

At first I thought y’all bought the Bunkey’s house since they just moved and this house is similar to theirs. Very exciting for the kids I’m sure, and it’s nice to take a break for y’all as well I’m sure. We just got back from the mountains of Virginia camping, it’s unload the rig and do laundry day 😊 next trip back to Hatteras, June we’ll be back in SC ❤ well say hello if we see you out and about!

We have a house, but camp half the year as sort of reverse snowbirds. We go from AZ to WI for the summers. We have the same camper as you. Another great video. Hope your kids’ move south turns out well.

I sold my house back 2022, i have apartment for time being, less than 2 years I will retire with 30 years, I'm moving into my toyhauler with my motorcycle just go where I like...I have no regrets of selling and give away things no longer used ...personally house kept me in one place you can't take it with you 😊...congrats to you and your family enjoy your life your way

Full time RVer in 2014 for 2 1/2 years. Bought a house long story. Zero kids for our kids and no friendships. Moved to another neighborhood same thing. Now back in the Rv and loving life and friendships

Before we moved to our farm, we had a 5th wheel and would spend 2 weeks at Hunting Island in SC. We absolutely loved Beaufort!! I miss camping so when I retire we will have a property management company rent our our place and head out.

Greetings from snowy Vermont, where we are taking a break from rv life and renting a house while it's snowing. I must agree that having a washer/dryer at your disposal is awesome, I miss my small space and comfortable bed in my little winnebago minnie . I love south carolina since it is our domicile state ,and I hope your children love it as well . Fantastic video 👍

Love ya; I watch but haven’t committed in some time. We have your same TT .. and we may be placed in a scenario we may go full time; But want a slightly larger TT the XLS 23 or the Imagine 25 or 26. Nothing bigger. You had us going thinking you moved back to a homestead lol … You make great points and want my wife Frances to hear you both… 😉

Thankfully we are gonna rent out our house while I go full time RV so having peace of mind that if needed I’ll have a stick and bricks home. I look forward to downsizing and just living a simpler life with less crap to deal with.

Yeah and especially when you get older you don't want stuff to cludder your life. I say down size and do some traveling. See what you like better. Always on the go will get old sometime. I live with cludder right now and every time we go away it's so peaceful. I agree downsizing is the best way. 73

Hey guys I totally understand what your going through I to was on the road for almost 3 years in our 2012 Forest River Georgetown 360 DS motorhome and loving it when my wife decided we were done mainly because our daughter had another baby at 40 and my wife just missed the sticks and bricks life. Well you know the old saying Happy wife happy life I'm telling you what a woman must have made that up because I'm miserable but she's happy and it's just like you said it's to overwhelming. You guys had me going for a minute I thought nooo not these guys too. Good fool for April fools day.

This post is very timely for me. I’ve been on the fence for the last six months, trying to decide whether to sell everything and hit the road, just my shepherd mix and me. I’m at a point where I’m trying to decide whether to keep my house or sell it. My question I asked myself is where is my homebase going to be if I sell? Maybe when I wanna come home I follow your advice and rent an Airbnb for a week or two? Thanks again for your video. You’ve got me thinking. dr

Glad it was helpful! For us personally selling the house was a great move as it forced us to be fully vested in this new lifestyle. Having a fall back for us would have been an excuse. We fully recognize that for some, that "security" is needed. We thought the Air BNB was a great compromise.

I am in the process of getting another rv, we own a house and a cabin 65 miles from home. I so want to travel around this beautiful country that’s why we’re looking at an rv. Tomorrow is April fools day got us, I really enjoy watching your adventures but we have grandchildren so seeing them is very important and wouldn’t blame you if you took up roots again. Make sure Y’all head down to check out the Murrells Inlet, Marshwalk, when you have some free time on your hands. Do head down to check out Brookgreen Gardens and the campground at Huntington Beach State Park, as well. Huntington Beach has so much more to offer than Myrtle Beach State Park. Enjoy!

I have to know by experience before I put my 2 cents worth in. If it's about electrical I usually know. These young wipper snappers think they know it all.
