This is so picturesque. the coulors are reminiscent of a Gaugin painting and the greens are so vivid...the gals chatter happily as they work building up strong bodies and their skins blend in beautifully with the choice of colourful clothing. Truly this is a beautiful video to watch just for the overall colour schemes of Nature and the locals.....sadly someday machines and robots will take over like they have done in our parts of the world and these strong people will be weak ones sitting in front of computers, myopic and stressed out, locked in grey concrete offices or flats, devoid of the beauty of Nature and with all kinds of ailments, as they watch and yearn like us for this colourful past in videos such as these.

I am just curious to try it myself. What is the process after these. I heard that they cover it with the banana leaves and burry it for some time. So hipp an you please explain all the process? I really love it and want to experiment. Thank you in advance.

Yes, they keep it in a soil pit/in a bamboo basket covered with enset leaf. Traditionally, the fermentation lasts from 2 -6 months. Then they use the fermented paste to bake bread. doi.org/10.1016/j.fm.2018.02.011

Thanks for the video. I was curious what these plants looked like in an ideal habitat.

Such a labor intensive work and not a single man in sight! One example of the disproportionate amount of burden Ethiopian women carry to provide for their families.
@KennethStevenson34 жыл бұрын
I read up on this. The processing of this plant is split up by gender. Women are assigned certain tasks, and men are assigned certain tasks in processing. It's cultural tradition. What we are seeing here is the women's part of the processing. I guess I got too much time on my hands looking into this stuff lol

The soil looks fertile so why not try other sources of carbohydrates like potatoes, sweet potatoes, tapioca, corn and etc. Such a tedious and hard work.
There should be an easier way of doing this omg Where the lazy men? Pls invent a machinery to do the job instead

Have you got the purpose of uploading this video? 100% not.. it is not zefen or music for free comment . it is about documenting the tradition as it is for the coming generation who will use your innovation.......
