Awesome face frame! What kind of edge banding is that white stuff? Looks thin and easy to work with.

Do you mostly use mdf for your builds ,do you not find your cabinets to heavy compared to ply or something.
@ACbespokecarpentry
@ACbespokecarpentry 4 ай бұрын
Yes, especially with this type of MDF I'm using as it can be heavy, but I don't find it too much of an issue and the weight difference I'd say isn't that much to worry me at all apart from maybe sheet lifting 😂😂, and yes, I mostly use MDF in my builds due to its versatility and I don't offer a painted finish in house

Hi, Adam. Love your videos and watching your process. Pretty smooth. By the way, what type of screws do you use for the mdf to join without tearing? Coarse or fine thread screws? Maybe you can point out the exact brand, size and make you guys use over there…tnx!
@ACbespokecarpentry
@ACbespokecarpentry 4 ай бұрын
No problem whatsoever! I always use a thinner screw. It can be a half thread or full thread. I don't really mind. I use a 3 mm drill bit with a counter sunk head and I normally use 4x60s. I'll link them here if you check my bio page I've got tool list with all the bits I use amzn.to/42lycLe

Very nice job, if you do bead detail often worth looking into the kreg router bead and miter bit system I've two cheap routers set up permanently, turn out high end jobs fast and more profitable.
@ACbespokecarpentry
@ACbespokecarpentry 4 ай бұрын
Arrhh interesting! Yes I've looked at the Craig jig system and seen someone online using it. So thought that would be a good one to try. I'd definitely look at doing that and that's a good idea. Having independent routers as setting up I guess can be a pain! Thanks again for the advice mate! It's a bit wild doing it on a chop saw 😆😂😂

@@ACbespokecarpentry been there done that and it drove me to be the kreg bits. I've the two routers in the one table with a sliding fence for doing the miters with set stops fixed for set frame sizes.

Great video and it’s great to see a start to end tutorial. Any advice on squaring a board before you cut your pieces? Also I see on the face boards you are not putting edge banding on, any issues when you paint them?
@ACbespokecarpentry
@ACbespokecarpentry 4 ай бұрын
So you can do this by checking the two corners of your piece of MDF. What I mainly do is start parallel from 1 end of the sheet as that will be square. I also use a slide on Square for my track that goes onto my tracksaw. This helps keep smaller pieces square too, as for the face frame and not edging them I used finsa hidrofugo MDF you don't need to fill or send the edges it's great stuff!

The use of sketch up is obviously really helping your work flow. Do you use any plugins for it vis a vis the cuts, ogee etc?
@ACbespokecarpentry
@ACbespokecarpentry 4 ай бұрын
No, I need to actually look at a plugin called cabinet sense that you can use with SketchUp but definitely something looking into. Are you using sketchup!? 👀 But yes I can't live without it now

@@ACbespokecarpentry No, not really but I obviously need to. I think it would really improve my results. Need to do some tutorials on KZfaq. I broke my arm just before Christmas, so only just now getting back into things 🙄

Ah sorry to hear about your arm! Yeah honestly it would be a good time to get in some lessons. Best person to go find and learn from is Alistair from free bird interiors on KZfaq. He does lots of sketchUp tutorials and can definitely help you out there! It does take time but honestly you let make less mistakes 👊🏻👍

@@ACbespokecarpentry Hi Adam, sorry to bother you again but I think you live fairly near me, I am in Christchurch, Dorset. Just had a query about where you're buying your sheet goods from (MDF/plywood/wood) from. I have yet to find a good supplier, other than usual places. Thanks in advance. I have been studying how to design on sketch up. Arm is nearly there, looking forward to getting some commissions soon although if you have any tips on how to get customers I am all ears. I am fairly new to this and used to work in pharmaceutical industry but then got a long COVID type deal.
