(n the heart of the Alaskan wilderness, where the unforgiving tundra stretches as far as the eye can see, there lived a couple far from the conveniences of modern life. This was my all time favorite show EVER on TV, and I’m 63years old, watched more TV than most people I know, so that’s saying a lot, and I always enjoyed when Edna and Heimo showed up 😊❤️

I think the residents there pretty much aged out of their homesteading days. I think there were a couple of shows with children of these old, original settlers...but I might be wrong about that. There is another show that has young newcomers to the tundra. I couldn't seem to get interested in it.

At around the 14 minute mark it’s stated that Edna got lost following a fox track on a snowy day. Being an avid outdoorsman myself and having spent many days hunting in the snow, I believe turning around and following my own tracks would lead me back to where I started in the snow! I’m calling BS on some of these stories.
@backroadbirder3316
@backroadbirder3316 5 ай бұрын
I called bs on a lot of these stories, as I think I've seen every episode and have never seen many of these things discussed that supposedly happened happened "on one episode". Also, they have more than one cabin, and the story about a neighbor's cabin catching fire doesn't make sense either, since they don't live that close to other people. Perhaps Animal Planet doesn't show every episode, or maybe this stuff is made up.

Edna is a badass. Remember when she took her gun out and killed that wolf? Sad when she talked about her daughters death and watching the winter bear eat their dog. I really liked Bob Harte, he died from cancer.

Yeah it was sad when Bob crashed his plane when it ran atta go juice. He was my favorite along with Heimo & Edna. They lost their first daughter. I remember that now she was swept away when a canoe capsized as a young child (her body was never recovered). And she killed that bear with two shots from a shotgun. Tell you what that woman took no prisoners! At least now they have a Sat phone. Probably charge it via solar. But they're above the Arctic circle so there's several months when guess what? No sun. I'd keep a buncha lithium's.

The title of this video is B.S. I know Heimo Korth. I have spent time with him in the ANWAR. Even though he and Edna have had some tragic events, their life is far from tragic. In fact it is quite wonderful to them. It is a hard life compared to living in the civilized world. But it is what they love. In conversations I had with Heimo, he could not understand how someone could like living in a big city. He thought everything about city life was bad. Their life, alone in the ANWAR, was all they ever wanted and would never leave. SO, change the title: Wonderful But Hard Life of Heimo & Edna Korth.
