doing the same but on purpose with some untuned cars (read without Lsd tuning) to make them more stable when turning on mid corners after a long straight as in lago maggiore. braking but not lifting off completely the throttle.. was wondering if that is good or not

are we supposed to trail brake on every corner or turn? When is it beneficial to use trail break and when not to use it?
@k80sg
@k80sg Жыл бұрын
Do you have to be apply 100% brake before each turn? On some parts I see only 50% braking power for e.g. 6:08

great video my biggest question is the right time to turn the steering wheel in curves and the intensity of load I should exert on the foot when stepping on the brakes would you have any tips to improve these issues.
@alexg9155
@alexg9155 2 жыл бұрын
You can use turn in points to know when to turn (like you would do for braking). However I improved a lot when I started looking at the apex, scanning it with my eyes, physically focusing on it. Look at the braking point with your peripheral vision (corner of the eye) and focus your eyes on the apex, lock them on it. Your brain will naturally know when and how much to turn. After you hit the apex, focus on the exit kerbs, your brain will then know when and how to let go of the steering. This is probably the most overlooked tip ever, I cut over a second on most tracks doing this, it's like a cheat code. For blind entry corners you would ideally have to revert to using a turn-in point method. As far as brake pressure is concerned it really depends on the input method and setup, can't help too much there.

Digit - long time fan here. What brake rubbers do you use in your Clubsport v3 pedals. How much did you turn the manual knob on the brake?
@DigitRacingDG
@DigitRacingDG 2 жыл бұрын
Hey, thanks for the support. Feels like I'm a celebrity 🤣 I use something different, two red ones and half of the green one (yes half), I did split one in half. Maybe it works for you maybe it doesn't, I'm using that. Manual at 35 but I use the brake screw at 2. I think I can share that in discord, it's never going to be the same but I think we can get close

@@DigitRacingDG nice - I’m getting a solid rig to use now. I have green rubbers so it may be too soft? That’s another video you may consider - the play on the brake pedal for you

Good vid. Does the 20/80 rule apply to every corner?
@dangermouse1400
@dangermouse1400 2 жыл бұрын
No. It depends on car, speed and steering.
@DigitRacingDG
@DigitRacingDG 2 жыл бұрын
Let's say yes but no. This is the base principle to start from. Every car has something unique so it's difficult to make it simple for every car out there. You could say that 80 20 works but it just gives you an indication where to start looking for more speed

When you say steering and braking 50/50 what does steering mean? Simply the steering angle? New to sim racer so I appreciate any advice
@Brixxmin1429
@Brixxmin1429 2 жыл бұрын
as in turning the wheel 50%
@alexg9155
@alexg9155 2 жыл бұрын
Not the steering angle, he's referring to the amount of grip used. Look up the circle of grip. 50/50 means 50% of grip is being used to brake and 50% is used to turn.
@DigitRacingDG
@DigitRacingDG 2 жыл бұрын
Okay, that's not exact science but you can get close following this principle. The tyres can withstand certain amount of force so you can only turn to a point where the tyres have grip. 50/50 is a good principle but not exact science.

This video is useless, because ABS default automatically trail brakes for you, you can turn with full brake applied while turning and perform better than a driver uses ABS weak (ABS but no trail brake assist) I think in my opinion PD should ban ABS default as it removes all techniques of braking, or at least disable the OP assist in sport mode (ABS default and countersteer assist) Edit: the "bad" scenario of MR car snap oversteer because you went off-throttle, oh you said not trailbraking should result in understeer, why say it oversteers... Plus, (I'm not an excellent driver) go to GT Sport Daily Race B of the month June now, I set a 0:50.037 lap time making me 6th in the top 10 stars, watch my replay as I full brake into the first 2 turns at suzuka with ABS default and actually stop in a shorter distance. because ABS default automatically trail brakes for me.

Game is dying real fast, truth is IT'S DEAD ALREADY!! Way way waaaaay, overhyped for its launch. I never thought GT would be this slow to get things fixed to where people could *enjoy* playing and not feel like an *underpaid worker*. They have not improved one thing since release, and in fact keep breaking a "broken game". GT7 is literally GTSport but with less features and more "broken"...and way more scammy - hiding rare parts like they are a real life currency...Kaz/PD has become a bigger douche than EA Sports.. The only thing GT has left is the graphics, and tbh, that's subjectable vs the competition - most games look incredible today, so that's not having much. Hugely disappointing. Could've been a legendary game but it's beyond saving at this point (for me), I've already gone back to Assetto Corsa!!! *A TEN YEAR OLD GAME!* Imagine if GT was on PC, the game would make large $$$... Been playing GT since its first release 25 years ago, but I have lost all respect and have no hope for it...👋PD. AC2 is just around the corner 😉
