Trail Building Maintenance, Drainage and Repairs

Today were making the most of the summer thunderstorms and rebuilding corners, sorting out drainage and giving some tweaks to the trails. Heavy rain causes erosion and water damage especially with sandy trails like ours, but it does provide us with water security for when we need it in summer droughts. Without enough water it becomes super difficult to build anything as it turns to sandy dust.

Thanks! If you’re not digging in the dark then that’s half the time gone in winter😂 a few torches it’s no hassle, in the wind and rain is more commitment

Thanks man, we’re blessed with sand which is easy to dig but high maintenance. I’ve spent a lot of time in a few different spots digging by myself. The best thing you can do is start doing it yourself, after you’ve built things more people will want to come and ride and help if you’re lucky. If nobody comes to help it takes longer but you get strong and feel proud at the end. Happy Digging🤘

Sick to see whos behind thi spot and maintaining it struggling with the ends of the 2nd from right (not the hips line)

There’s been a lot of people over the years who have built this spot up. What bike are you using? Make sure you’ve pumped up your tyres to 40 psi if you’re on a mtb and 50 on a DJ. Is that the jump over the footpath onwards you’re struggling with?

@DannyDigs on a small hardtail and put 40 ish psi in I'd say poor choice of words with struggling just sorta progressing through it 👍

small hardtail is ideal, even better if thats a dirt jump bike. progression comes from struggle, keep on getting the laps in practise your basic skills away from the jumps get some pumptrack laps in and you will be sending big set in no time : ) @@oliverdunn1701
