There's much to be said about building your own cabin in the wilderness and the feelings surrounding it and the land it sits on. I try to convey those feelings in this video. I wish you all could see this place. Feel it. Smell it. Hear the absolute silence that envelops you.
My steps get slower. I can hear my blood coursing through my veins. There is total and complete lack of stress. The world drifts away.
I hope you enjoy this immersive trip to one of my favorite places in the whole world: My cabin.
PS; Who knew I'd find that on my trail cam? The great dancing, pooping otters! No wonder I can't catch any fish in this river~
Watch me build this cabin:

I hope you laughed as hard as I did at the dancing, pooping otters. I swear- every single shot captured one of them backing up to the camera! Hahah good stuff. I didn't even include the other trail cam footage so as not to upstage the otters. No doubt they're eating every fish in the river! Danggg. Thanks for watching. These long videos are always a mystery to me if people will watch that long. My goal is to give you a relaxing place to park your mind for a while. A virtual escape in a mad, mad world. I appreciate each and every one of you! PS Maysie is fine- she's retired. Too old for adventuring. She did just take out a coon that got in the house (cat door I suppose) so she is still defending the homeland- savage as ever! LONG LIVE DA WOOF!

I love seeing your respect for the trees. My mom suffered from dementia the last 8 years of her life & one of her favorite things to do was to take walks through the parks & hug the trees. She would literally ask me to stop the car at times so she could get out & hug a large tree. Her love of trees is imbedded in my soul. She was literally a tree hugger & had been her entire life. It was one thing she remembered after her dementia & it was so wonderful to watch her light up, just like she did in her early years. Thank you for bringing this memory back to me, Brooke. I had so much nostalgia watching this video. So much so, in fact, that I am going to take a trip to one of her favorite parks this afternoon & hug one of her favorite trees. ❤🌳🌲

My mother has dementia now and I’ve been taking care of her for 8 years literally alone, day by day she can’t remember anything short term , but when the swans and loons fly in and on the lake it’s amazing watching her and listening to her almost chip, it’s so hard to do this alone for so long without a day off but watching her like that looking over the lake makes my heart happy, God Bless you caregivers out there, I have so much respect where I never thought about it before🙏❤️

I love that little doggy💖 I bet you could slap up about six hundred watt solar panels on the front of that cabin and run a small 5000 btu AC on a 2000 watt inverter to cool your cabin all day long on solar power only without even needing any batteries! Well, as long as it's bright and sunny anyway but of course that's the only time you'd need air conditioning anyway isn't it?

I loved your adventure and the pooping otters, Brooke. Moose is slowly warming up to the fire. Is he afraid of the smoke? Thanks for sharing your experiences with us. I had fun.

I think it must be a self preservation thing. My cat HATES my glass front woodstove and gives it a wide berth. *Edit* I meant front, not from, but thanks for trying spellcheck.
