I love my property in NE Washington state. My land hollered at me and called me to move there. We have lots of water but it’s not very accessible. We are in fire country but my area hasn’t burned in 35+ years. We have challenges but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I may end up doing a similar homestead in the south and being a sunbird. 😂

Grew up at a cottage that we used all year round with an out house. For the winter we would cut a sheet of styrofoam into a toilet seat. Styrofoam takes your temperature instantly so makes for a warm seat. Just a tip. 😉

I have an old hand dug well with a hand pump in it, a creek, three ponds nearby and a lake a few miles away. Water no problem. I know how to make charcoal and have an endless supply of sand so I can make water filters even though I have several Lifestraws, Sawyer Minis and house water filters. Keep Prepping my friends.
