Awesome implement Neil. Definitely see the potential with this. Onetime i was watching one of my brothers brush hogging along a wooded bank , he hit a small tree stump and a chunk of the rotted wood flew out and hit me in the forehead. This chunk was maybe the size of a baseball and i was 30' away. I think i would be afraid to use this. I wasn't hurt other than a severe headache, but could've been.

I see some real advantages of having this. But, if you don't have some extreme mowing conditions, is the cost worth the convenience? I see a some issues that I have with it right out of the gate. I do not like the looks of it positioned that far off to the side. I am quite sure that the loader arms and the ssqa are not engineered for that type of stress. Next would be all the dust, dirt, and debris from up front would plug the radiator rather quickly. Lastly, and a pretty easy fix, is the way the hydraulic hoses are configured. That looks to be an expensive fix very shortly down the road. Great video Neal, as always. Thanks for putting this out there.

Nice demonstration. I originally was looking at the Lane Shark unaware of the TrailBlazer company. I like the rear fluid-distribution sump-pump which off-sets weight and feeds rotary mower fresh hydraulic fluid. My concerns are the front digging into the ground which puts a lot of stress on loader arms. Pivoting needs to be refined. A float should make this implement pretty nice. Thanks for this video.

I've had the fantasy of the MK Martin snow blowers with hydraulic power from a PTO hydraulic power pack ( maybe someday ). I know MK martin makes a power pack as does Land Pride. Thanks for the always interesting and informative videos.

it's a cool beginning concept and could definitely be refined. definitely needs a hydraulic side tilt- something that could be plumbed into the 3rd function. getting on and off to keep the contour adjusted is a PITA. maybe an option in the future? a set of 3" skis that mount to each side of the mower would have been a good upgrade to allow it to float along the ground better. maybe adjustable so that a mow height can be set. that way you could put your mower in "float" position and have it skim across the ground without digging in. the power pack need to be built with more ground clearance. it nearly drug ground when you were mowing up that hill. some simple drop legs that could be pinned up after you hook it up would have been much easier to build than that frame and provided more ground clearance.

the power pack is more interesting. i built a nearly identical one years ago to mount a skid steer backhoe to one of my old International tractors. i think i'll resurrect it because i wanted to get a hydraulic auger for the front and my MX4800 doesn't have enough hydro flow to power one. of the two products, the powerpack is the one with more potential to sell other optional equipment for our tractors that was once only for the realm of skid steers due to the hydro-flow required. at $1500 it's a great price as i think it cost me $1000 to build the one i made. to have one ready to go with all the hoses/filter/mounting/pressure relief valves/etc. is actually a somewhat difficult thing to engineer. another thing to consider, if i own a power pack then i can go to a rental yard and say rent a auger for a skid steer, use it, and not worry about contamination of my ultra-expensive Super UDT fluid in my tractor. i'd hate to mess up my tractor because of some rented equipment pumped a bunch of ATF into my tractor's hydraulic system.

So with a custom return line this will work with a third function on a MX5200? It's rated at 9.5 GPM but I would imagine the actual rate is borderline with the minimum that this attachment requires. I've seen this before but its gonna be quite some time before I can buy one, but when I do I'll probably want to use it with the backhoe on, at least some of the time. I'll probably use it mainly to maintain field edges and my roads through the woods.

Just some food for thought when you mow along the road you start at the top and do your brushing working down then you mulch that up with the grass also when you was going into the Briars take the mower up above the Briars at about a 45 so not to throw it at you and pull it down to the ground that's how I would do all brush with that mower. So If i have a snowblower power pack like that would this mower be compatible? If the flow rates work out.

Yes, although its still a bit short on GPM for a snow blower

this thing is awkward . For the very same chores , i use hydraulically positioned mulcher : kzfaq.info/get/bejne/htCfe7tlvp7Idnk.html ...... it can also be rotated 90°

For the complete PowerPack setup, but running on tractor hydraulics is how most of these are done and that is complete @ $3895 if you have a hydraulic outlet.

If s person had the money for this setup, I would just retrofit it with some castoring gage wheels and get a passable finish mower.

I wouldn’t run that without safety glass around cab. I run a tiger brand long arm bush hog makes that look like a toy . I have had rocks and limbs hit my window that could be fatal. What you are doing is not safe and really stupid.
