This is a really good informative video! Thank you for sharing! I see all the time car haulers with the 5 lug axles and people think you can put 7000lbs on a dual 3500lb 5 lug axle car hauler .but most of them weight around 2,000lbs empty so you can only put 5,000lbs max on a 7k GVRW car hauler trailer. It’s good to know all the different capacities. I’m also wanted a 6lug 83” by 20ft all metal car hauler. As well since a 10,400GVRW like your trailer can haul up to around 8,400lbs. Perfect for trucks and 3/4 ton trucks or really almost anything. I have a 14ft by 83” 7000lb GVRW pipe utitly trailer I used to pick up atvs mowers zero turns all that. I put a 5000lb polestar winch on the front as it was $160 at at woods it’s very well made. I wanted the 3500lb badland zxr winch but it was only 10$ cheaper so I went with the 5,000. As my small 14ft trailer can haul 5400lbs . So if I ever need to winch a small tractor I could as well.

Great Video/Set Up! Planning to do the same, just larger winch for farm use.

😂😂😂😂😂😂 I watched the beginning of this video thinking this guy is ganna some badass 12,000 lbs winch on this 22 foot ALL STEEL trailer and then he opens the lid on the toolbox and it's only a 3 lbs winch 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️

Anything bigger is unnecessary. Pay attention to the words in the video next time. It's been years now this winch has pulled several heavy duty diesel trucks and equipment on the trailer without issue. Putting a 12k winch on a trailer is idiotic you're rolling vehicles up ramps lmao they're not stuck in the mud 😆

@@roncook8566 not all project vehicles have perfectly aired up tires and ALOT of times project vehicles have locked up brakes I'll stick with my MAN winch you stick to the cute winches ok 😂😂😂 why the FUCK would I wanna continue watching a video of trailer upgrades when a guy has a damn 3 lbs winch on a trailer car anyhow ? I could understand a utility trailer but we're talking about equipment and car trailers 😂😂😂😂😂

I like my 12,000lb winch. doesn't work as hard, and will last a hell of a lot longer. I don't think it's "idiotic" we are all entitled to our own opinions and decisions. I wouldn't cut anyone else down and or make a bold statement that it's "idiotic" persay.. Just saying!@@roncook8566

I put a 12000 pound winch on my truck because it’s in the woods and the mud or snow but everything else I rather have a small winch

Nice Video.....I have the 20ft 10lb steel deck version. I got it back in September. And, the first thing I did, being here in NW Indiana, was coat the bottom. I'm looking for setting it up for a winch (removable). Was deciding on powering the winch with cables or battery? I got some cables coming with the winch (13.5k lb) and then I came across your video last night. That just changed my mind on what direction to go with powering the winch. And, using a cane myself, work smarter not harder.

Yes the bottom on mine still definitely needs done it's almost bare steel 😆 with a nice coat of paint underneath seems like they would last forever 👍

@@roncook8566 definitely hold off the rust. I did make contact with them and you can get one that is primed and painted, rather than just painted.

That panel works unbelievably well. Several times I've checked and it was still charging covered in ice or snow. I've popped the lid a handful of times to check the voltage and it's always at least 13.8 volts. Very cool
Can't remember if that's the specific unit or not. They have them in several different wattages

Really nice setup. You put a lot of thought 💭 into that and it's really neat. Any problems with carrying your gear in the box? Straps, chains, ratchets etc. Thanks.
@roncook8566 Жыл бұрын
No problems there's a good bit of real estate in there. I keep several straps, chains and binders in there with room to spare. I do want to line the bottom with rubber eventually
@imaslowlerner Жыл бұрын
Where's your spare?
@roncook8566 Жыл бұрын
I have a spare just not mounted on the trailer yet. Haven't decided on where to put my mount. I'm gonna have two spare hubs when I add electric brakes to the second axle so I plan on keeping them in the toolbox as well

Ron I’ll give you a million dollars you show us ANY trailer manufacturer that sells a brand new trailer intended for pulling vehicles up onto. They have 12,000 lb winches on them for a reason. Your winch is for smaller ATV’s. I have a 300 4X4 ATV that has a bigger winch on it than 3500. You do you, promise you you are incorrect.
