Right? They talk about Sky and CS a bit in Daybreak (in the Backstory); they couldn't mention that here? Not to mention they list Trails of Cold Steel III first instead of Trails from Zero first....

I never expected Trails to gain a special place on my heart, it has become one of my favorite series of all time, excited to play Daybreak!

Since you love the series so much, does it matter where i start or should i just jump at daybreak or should i start at the beginning or somewhere else?

@@Solokid404you can either start from cold steel I or start from daybreak I. Idk if you will be able to play the older games. I recommend watching a story recap (not too brief)of the Sky trilogy and the Crossbell duology and then start with cold steel

@@Solokid404 Well You could try Daybreak since I think there won't be too much to know from previous games, I started with Cold Steel 1 and 2 but I stopped and started playing from the beginning

@@Solokid404if you don't mind old graphic and like Jrpg already, go ahead and start from Trails in the sky and just slowly work your way to the newest one. It is worth the time. If you wanna try more modern ones then Cold steel and Daybreak are fine jumping point.

@@Violinoknight I just realized that I have the first game(trails in the sky)in my library. I remember now it was around the time when I first got a PC and I was loading up on games and I ended up getting it for fairly cheap. So I might go ahead and start there. Also I'm all fine with older graphics as long as the game and story is good/compelling.

Why should that matter, though? You don't need to own the rights of games to show footage of them. If that were the case, Let's Plays wouldn't exist.

At this point everyone is now becoming fans of the franchise and Falcom in general. NISA and XSEED know this. Having XSEED bring Ys Oath in Felhgana remaster to the West is a good first step in the right direction for them to perhaps do more with the older titles. I'm talking about the Trails in the Sky trilogy and Trails of Cold Steel 1&2 for Switch and other modern consoles. Even the Ys series that they still have the rights to. Let's all keep on supporting these games and Falcom because things are happening

Originally, I got into this series thanks to a good friend of mine I met almost 4 years back, and it's because of him that I got into it at the time, and I love it lot, with cs 4 leaving a big impact on me that got me hooked for good. It's so good that I got into the games that were coming out after cs4 despite only the Asian and jp versions being out at the time, with no English version in site. But keep in mind, I started with cs 1, so I've not played the first 5 trails games, as I'd rather wait until the series has ended once and for all to go back and play the first 5 trails games. As for daybreak and daybreak 2, I love them both, despite not understanding the japanese language completely just yet, and I was able to enjoy those 2 games a lot, just as much as hajimari no kiseki, but currently, as a player of the jp version of both daybreak games and Hajimari no kiseki(trails into reverie), I love the 3 games the most, as they had the most fun combat systems that I have played in the series, let alone rpgs. But if it weren't for that good friend of mine, I would've taken longer to snag the games, as I Originally saw cs 1 at gamestop back when I lived in California almost 3 years ago for 5 years but just never bothered to grab that case and sneak a peak for myself at the time, and it sucks I waited because of the sudden rarity it became for me to find, especially for an American regional copy of cs2 which prevented me from getting that save data bonus from cs1(which was an American regional copy for me) but it is what is. Great series overall.

Fuck me for expecting this to start with Sky I guess, but I get it since NISA doesn't own the Sky trilogy.... still, start with Zero if you do take the games you do own

I would start with cold steel 1&2 . Then crossbell games. If you read the newspaper in the crossbell games it spoils the ending of 2. Obviously, sky trilogy if you can.

They also literally own Zero and Azure XD. I guess it's stuck in between sky trilogy and CS1 and CS2, so they got omitted also.

Two trilogies are still missing on modern platforms, Gagharv and Sky. Also, why is there no Cold steel 1 and 2 on Switch?

Unfortunately Cold Steel 1&2 did get Switch ports but only in Japan and Korea I think. Hopefully XSEED will bring them over

Naw port it all to gamepass no reason Tales and Star ocean should be cheaper than this IP when each game is its own individual story yet every game in this series carries on the story like Yakuza 0-8 put it all on the best subscription so gamers can get caught up on the lore

You can play the PS4 versions ot Cold Steel I and II, Zero and Azure on your PS5, I dont see the need why they should need a PS5 version if theyre pretty old games. Cold Steel III and IV have PS5 versions released early this year.

Because Xseed let the rights expire after CS2 so NISA had to pick it back up from there.

Sky Trilogy and CS1/2 IPs were owned by XSeed, so they don't have the rights to them. Wished there was a way to re-release them in more convenient forms.

It always hilarious to see how out of place and forced Alisa always looks when they put her into these official artworks, especially when the girl did nothing to deserve being called Cold Steels heroine. Someone at Falcom really doesn't want to let that go.
