In this video, I share with you the head unit upgrade that I did to my Jeep JK. I replaced the old factory radio/head unit in my Jeep JK to a Sony XAV-AX4000 from Trail Seven. This head unit features a 6.95" touch screen, back up camera compatibility, as well as WIRELESS Apple Carplay and Android Auto. It is also featuring Maestro idatalink which allows you to keep all of your factory steering wheel controls working, as well as diagnostic info from your Jeep.
This option is one of the best on the market if you are looking to upgrade the head unit in your Jeep JK so that you can have all modern features.

I literally just put this kit in a friends Wrangler today. Took less than 1 hour total and it works great. She was totally happy.

@@JayCostaUSA Very pleased so far except phone will just come unpaired with Bluetooth and I lose Android Auto. A power cycle corrects. Did the latest firmware update too.

For a total of about 260 dollars you can get the Atoto F7 XE with the wiring harness the rear view camera and steering wheel control button ( wireless ) It has wireless android auto and Apple CarPlay Comes with a wired USB for fast charging I installed a USB socket opposite the cigarette lighter Put this in a 2007 Jeep Liberty Oh also the adaptor kit for the dash is included in that price. Works great Has wireless and wired capability And if wired you can watch KZfaq

The package is excellent. Plug and play, factory compatible. Trailseven are amazing. My only issue is the sound is still pretty crap with the stock amp, need to bypass, the rear at least.

Great video, thanks. I bought the same bundle for my 2016 JK, and am having the same issue trying to route the rear camera wire through the grommet that they recommend. You mentioned that you ran yours through "vents" in your tailgate.... Can you tell me where these vents are, as I don't see any on my jeep, or maybe I'm just missing something that's obvious! Thanks!

Yea the vents are for air pressure in the cabin. They are a bunch of slaps right behind the tire carrier. Thanks for watching!

Does the rear view camera automatically pop up once you go into reverse? Hope you dont always have to click the cam button Everytime you go into reverse...

True, the "cam button" on the home screen does not operate the rear cam. I was told that it is for an additional cam - At least that's what i was told... My rear cam only activates when I place my truck in reverse.

Actually, the rear cam WILL work with this button IF you wire power from the cam to the head unit. Otherwise, it only works in reverse.@@yadaydada123

How is the screen visibility in sunlight? There is another video on KZfaq from someone with the AX6000 and he says its basically invisible in sunlight. Have you had any problems?

I havent had an issue. The AX6000 has the glossy touch screen, so that may make it worse. Thanks for watching

Hi. I have a Jeep and was considering purchasing this unit. For the steering wheel controls, is that connected via the maestro? Or the wheel wheel control interface? I was about to get both, but if the maestro connects the steering wheel controls, do I really need the steering wheel controls interface?

The maestro is what gets the steering wheel controls to work. I dont remember being asked about steering wheel control interface. Thanks for watching and let me know if you have other questions I could help with.

Where did you connect power for the backup camera? They have a note on the TrailSeven page saying to "follow instructions on the link" and not to connect to the tail light, but I don't see "the link."

There is a wire going to the real lights that I tied into. It is behind the plastic on the passenger side. The link they are referring to is what they emailed you when you made the order. I would contact them if you never got the email. Thanks for watching!

@@JayCostaUSA Thanks for the comment. I asked while doing some research and didn't actually place an order until earlier today. I did receive the email. I have an existing camera on the Jeep and was hoping not to have to have to get into the rear near the tail light. I'm not even sure how the current camera is powered so I'll have to figure it out after the get the console off.
