TRAIN RACE + FOUR Friendly Crews @ South Manassas, Virginia
Here we see tow trains race each other.... Norfolk Southern NS 228 heading south on the Washington District.... VRE 33 rushes passengers home not far behind, chasing the Norfolk Southern train down. Afterwards, an awaiting Northbound, NS 214, gets track clearance to to proceed. We also see another VRE commuter train, 35, as well as Amtrak train 19!!

I heard that the leaser units get turned into "General-Motive GECX" Engines as well as "Progressive Rail Locomotives PRLX" And that AC6000CW Ex-CSX was going to get turned into a "PRLX"

I subscribe to your KZfaq channel because of trains I didn't know you were going to spot an airplane coming in for a landing now that was totally amazing that was a nice spot also a nice camera as well lots of cameras cannot see that plane that clearly but apparently you're a camera again nice work

I caught a train race that had Amtrak Auto Train VS a CSX Auto Rack when I was at Folkston last May and the Auto Train had a decent lead. You should check it out, Rowan. Awesome action as always, brother!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Love that spot though I usually sit in the VRE parking lot so you can see planes and trains but you definitely aren’t as close to the tracks might I recommend the old bust head road crossing for shots lots of woodland scenery and any trains going westbound are usually at full throttle through that part it’s quite spectacular it’s just west of Haymarket after the thoroughfare gap

Awesome timing, but you didn't capture it very well. You should have kept the camera steady and on the 214 / VRE / 204 action throughout. Three UPs on this NS track isn't something you see often. There's nothing like train spotting in Manassas on a Friday night, unless it's trainspotting in Alexandria any afternoon.

I always wanted to see a train race Edit: one day I hope to meet you! I live in Virginia and when I get into my teens (about 3 years when I’m 14) I’ll ask my mom if we can go railfan around Virginia !
