Just visited Union Pacific 18 at the Illinois Railway Museum yesterday. That loco is a beast! They even put lights on the inside so at night the cab, headlight, engine room, number lights, and step lights all are lit.

15:10 The Dash 9-40CW was built only for NS and NS decided to make it with a conventional control stand, not the modern desktop controls you see in modern locomotives today

I've had Train Simulator way back when it was called Railworks. I've brought a lot of DLC for this game and the fact that a free upgrade to 2016 doesnt give you this DLC to dedicated customers is not very fair.

+Hartsock91 I don't see why people expect free content, it takes a lot of work to make content like this, especially as DTG isn't the largest game dev in the world, you wouldn't buy a sony DVD player, and then years down the line expect to get given free sony DVDs, same logic imo.

+Gameplay HD Do you have a program like FaceTrackNoIR etc installed on your computer? If yes then you need to uninstall it as even when not running, it tells the game to wait for tracking movements and disables interior mouse control. If its not that then I don't know, you'll have to ask DTG for support.

Hi Moleman I'm brand new to train sim. I've only had it a couple of days. Can you tell me how you manage to move around (free roam) in the sim, rail yard and cab, e.g what keys on keyboard etc? I see that if you press shift + number, then you get fixed outside views but I cannot look around or alter them views. There doesn't seem to be any sort of instruction manual with this game and I'm stuck in the cab with a 2D panel to drive with. PS it is the Steam version 2016 that I have.Thanks.

It's not stupid, you're getting the route plus 5 steam locomotives, plus the German and US routes if you don't already have them for one great price. The fact that the core game is bundled with the routes shouldn't matter, you're paying for the new content, not the game again.

Have you noticed that there is no coal in the Collett tender for the Halls?

+Kieran3009 Productions If you had TS2015, you will get a basic update to TS2016, but if you want the new content, you will have to buy TS2016.

+EpicSteveSmash A basic upgrade of the menu, Academy and search functionality happens automatically, if you want all the new content you have to buy TS2016.

Hello Moleman am Deivid, here in Brazil and I wonder if it's too difficult to model or deselvolver something to Train Simulator, wanted to know some techniques to apply on the routes we have here both on routes and in trains, as I speak of the state of São Paulo I wanted to create the trains here, some are aerodynamic etc. I would be grateful if you could show me or explain if there is any development program or how to develop very Thanks

I find it very annoying that I have to buy the game again just to upgrade to TS2016. However, since I do not own the content yet, I don't feel that annoyed. If I had Koln to Koblenz or Sherman Hill already, I would be more angry but DTG have not really acknowledged the existence of veteran players since TS2014. I've had the game since Railworks 3 and feel like I am being ripped off, but yet I still somehow like the game. Sorry if this comment was too long.

So there are two core changes? New camera handling and a new menu? Others are just content DLC? Still the same dumb physics, dumb "moving scenery" and rare AI traffic, and all bugs are present from Rail Simulator(2007)?

You can toggle them, I can't remember the keys exactly but I know you can, try looking in the manual.

Even though this review is 2+ years old, I will consider your "review" bogus because you got a "FREE KEY" from Dovetail Games that obviously influences your views. Buy it like the rest of us THEN tell me what you think. You can always write it off as a business expense.

hwrdmltn hwrdmltn You clearly don't understand how this works, many youtubers get games for free and review them honestly, at least I went to the effort of disclosing that information for the benefit of the viewer. When is the last time you think Nerdcubed paid for the games he does videos on? All his recent 'Tests' videos have been from free review copies and I trust his judgement.

The reason I don't really like TS 2016 is that I think it's too focused. If you don't like American freight trains or the hassle of driving steam trains, then most of this game is worthless to you. I think TS 2015 offered more variety. That's why I'm staying with TS 2015 and not getting the new game with the new routes.
