@@nanaokyere7141Yeah, the Avelia Liberty has been in the works for about over 5 years to replace the old 24 year old Acelas, but have faced numerous setbacks.

Avelia Liberty is a ugly hideous looking thing. I like the look of Acela, simple. It’s kind of a thing of don’t fix what’s not broken. Acela needs it’s own track lane for it to unleash its fullest potential before they bring another model on.

Ive been a fan of the Pennsylvania railroad since our first house in Coatesville. Feet away from the tracks. Born is 1958 about 1961 i started noticing, merchant street. Moved to Harrisburg, 12 to 16 I'd leave my friends and walk down to the tracks to watch the big long black Pennsylvania locatmotive ripping up the tracks leaving Harrisburg and arriving. I was a strange dude where i see cool as these passenger trains and A10 warthogs close combat war planes. That's cool too me. Black and strange, Hallaluhyah.

Wow. Thanks for sharing this. Love it! Question: why do most all of the Amtrak trains have a locomotive both at the head end AND the rear end? Surely just one locomotive can haul these relatively short and lightweight passenger train sets (compared to freight trains), or am I wrong? I admit I know almost nothing about this stuff in the current era. Many years ago, my ancestors worked as railroaders in Scranton, PA, for decades...but that era has long since passed. As a kid, I rode many trains to/from Scranton to New York. Most of what I know about railroading is now "ancient history!" 😊

By having a cab on both ends you don't have to turn the train around or get a new locomotive to pull the train in the opposite direction.

Current Acelas were made by Bombardier. The new ones are made by Alstom of France. 👌

We’ve SERIOUSLY gotta get a high-speed rail network here in America! We’re DECADES behind Japan, China, and parts of Europe! The United States has relied on cars for far too long! I think it’s time to ditch the road and start riding the rails! America is DESPERATE for a nationwide high-speed network!

They are! Not being replace for atleast another 1-2 years. New trains are not doing to well..
