@@katewrightsings ooh. An open mic in Austin would be intimidating!! Though I did play and sing at The Bluebird in Nashville once and had a very good experience. I’m part of a song writing duo (videos on my YT channel) and when we record, my music brother Michael definitely plays the guitar. He’s a brilliant player while I’m a modest player at best. I’m better with lyrics and my vocals are pretty modest too. I’m really just a hobbyist but I’ve enjoyed my collaboration with Michael very much. We’ve recorded two CDs of original music and may do # 3 this spring. As a “non-musical music” person, my “career” (if I can call it that) has been way more interesting than I ever would have guessed. For the first 20 years I owned a guitar, I just played at home by myself. But meeting Michael really opened things up for me. YOU, on the other hand, have real talent. Your interpretation of “Creep” is just brilliant. I’ll watch more of your videos later. But keep crushing it sister! 🎶💪🏿🙌🏽 My little town has one open mic per month and I’ll probably just stick to that 😊

100% agree. And women can't stay at home both parents have to work to get by. Lives kids to be raised pretty much alone. If you're the middle class. Regular folks can hardly live anymore. they're working so much just to get by, to make ends meet. Work, sleep and eat is all anyone has time for. There's no time for actual living or enjoying life. And because of that, then one's mental health takes a toll. Middle class is going extinct. That's what my song "American Dream," is really about. My whole album really. I'm very passionate about this subject lol

I was singing it to my baby nephew in my head so I think that’s where the lullaby feel came out and why I was quiet and soft at the beginning. I also like building up dynamics and tension im the song so that’s why the “oomf” didn’t come until later.
