Trains at Speed The Netherlands
A compilation of trains around Holland travelling at speed! All the videos were created by me and all the trains in this video do at least 80 km/h! Please enjoy and if you want to see more trains, please subscribe!

I visited the Netherlands last year and I was thoroughly impressed by the efficiency and sophistication of your rail system. You could say I was dazzled by the superior civilization. unrelated - but i also really liked the bicycling infrastructure. every day when a colleague of mine picks me up and we sit in the traffic jam, seeing all those cars and SUVs around us with just the driver in them, I think "what a bloody waste".

Thanks for your comment! Yes, we do have a good train system and good bike system. However, Dutch Railways and Prorail (infrastructure manager) do their best to ruin it the best they can.

I been on the newer and rounder looking double dekker trains over there. They are pretty quick to pick up speed. As a English guy visiting the Netherlands frequently in 2010-11 I enjoyed the experiences . Pretty basic inside I will add. but still ok. Remember being stoned after a day out iat the Dam. Grand Centrale has to many platforms though. And eventually managed to get to my girlfriend's house at Overbos I can't remember the station where I got off though to get there for the 400 bus. God I miss your lovely clean country. Ik Hou Van Jou Nederlands. Danke Je Well for the upload het is lekker or Luek... 😁

Bedrijf bestaat niet meer hoor, filmpje komt uit 2012. Tegenwoordig rijdt deze locomotief in rode DB Schenker kleuren rond. :-)

Don't underestimate 1500v dc: It delivers big time. The Netherlands is one of the most sophisticated developed nations on this earth and despite the system being pushed to its limits it still delivers

Great! I deeply respect Dutch folks(not only) which keep self country in well appointed condition. We Russians must still more learn in Europpe/ Respect and CAre about Nature, relevance and so on + sense of taste by life.

Ik zag je opmerking. Ik vond de beelden mooi scherp. Blijk ik naar 480p te kijken op mijn Galaxy Note met 4k scherm. hahahaha. 1080p was niet eens zoveel beter. Bewijs vam goede opname. Filmachtige kwali Had NS promovideo kunnen zijn...

Have to say, as a Brit visiting the Netherlands, the thing that struck me about the railways there was, efficiency. Everything looked like it ran on time, at full speed and full capacity. In the U.K. quite the opposite, I suppose that’s the price you have to pay for having railways that are 200 years old.

That's not entirely true. The English have one big difference with The Netherlands: More smaller lines that are still open. In The Netherlands if a line is too small they'll close it down quickly, unfortunately. Here the NS (Dutch Railways) want to make a train appear every 10 minutes between major cities. Pretty nice - but the problem is that these trains drive with minimal capacity. 4 or 6 coaches is usually the maximum, whereas it was 12 or 10 with every 15 minutes. So all in all it has both pro's and con's.

British Railway Network: Pros: Very classy British Rail stock still in service, Class 313 & HST ❤️ Catering services like the Buffets on a IC 225 Railtours 👍 HS1 Channel Tunnel linking us to Europe much faster than by sea Beautiful Scottish scenery Cons: TOC system is broken Wasting money on platform barriers at the end of a station, which is not locked you can literally just open the gate lmao Inferior High Speed options HS2 is literally pointless imo and the money should be used to update the out of date infrastructure Extremely limited loading gauge leading to longer trains instead of double decker

I dint hear many horns in that video, are there really strict rules about horn useage in the netherlands? I know in australia, trains use their horns at level crossings, and stations. But I know that it varies from country to country

Hello, in the Netherlands the drivers may only horn when there is danger. Like when the train is driving past a very busy station, or when a level crossing is broken. Usually they do not horn. Some drivers do horn to railfanners, though... :-)

The first one is a 14 car ICM. Is that normal? I've only been to the Netherlands once and I was mainly in Amsterdam. The longest I saw were 12 car VIRM's. Had to laugh at the wind on the videos. One thing I noticed when I visited was how windy it was lol.

I like them too but why is their speed limit is 125kmph? i have seen trains that surpass 160kmh atleast?

They actually go up to 140 km/h, which is mainly because the speed limit on most of the track in the Netherlands is 140 km/h, with some exceptions like the high speed rail section between Schiphol and Breda(after that it continues all the way to Paris), where the speed limit is 300 km/h. In the near future though, the Intercity Nieuwe Generatie(Intercity New Generation), will start it's service in parts of the country at 200 km/h.

Yes, 5 couples! That was very rare though, because most trains were out of service and only a handfull were still in service. When all the trains were still in service, they drove with 10 quite regularly. Even 12 happened every now and then!

Back in 1977 when those trains first came in service they used have connecting doors on the front of the nose. So when the units coupled together the doors would open and a passage way would come out this was handy for conductors if they had to move to another trainset. But when these trains in 2006 got modernized the doors where removed due to them being faulty causing delay.

I live in the Netherlands! Den haag, Rijswijk. A beautifal country, with clean streets, nice people and a nice neighborhood! The only issue is, that they're many junks at night in the streets, but still a beautifal country to being. 1 great thing, is that everbody speaks English (not licherly everbody but you know what I mean)
