I've always wanted to have my own model railroad like this, and in my personal opinion, the two steam locomotives I'd buy are my most favorite engines, the Hiawatha F7 steam engine, and the New York Central 4-6-4 J3 Hudson, beautiful locomotives, and wonderful steamers I'd have on my layout, considering that I'm more into steam than diesel

Congrats on the magazine feature! I love your videos, like you, I just like to watch them run! I have 2 questions: 1st - have you ever done a video with the B&O 4-4-0? 2nd - how do you electrically handle the reverse loop on the right side (from our view) of the layout when you're running continuous?
@RBPTrains
@RBPTrains 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Alan! Answers to your questions: 1. I have not done a video on the B&O 4-4-0 yet. It has run in the background of a few videos but I will get it into a video at some point. 2. The Fastrack switches have auto-reversing features built in and pull power from the track so it makes install and operation easy. The auto-reverse feature works regardless of conventional or command operation. Thanks for watching!
@JohnErikMills
@JohnErikMills 2 жыл бұрын
@@RBPTrains that’s probably the best part about Lionel trains. The switches have pretty much always done that. There’s an isolated section on the switch that the trains wheels themselves provide power to. This activates the reverse. Nice!

Thanks for the inspiring train run, Chris! I guess you're aloud to be bored once in a while, but for me as a fan, you're never boring! I really like seeing the NYC 5433 Hudson leading that great passenger consist. It's a powerful looking steamer that takes me back to the later 1940's, when steam was king. I never get tired seeing a steam loco on the rails, whether prototype or fantasy! As a full time n scale rivet counter and part time toy train enthusiast since inheriting my late fathers' collection, I think the mighty sound of steam from Fundimensions is the best sound Lionel ever invented. It takes me back to Christmas time as a little kid. Along with some original cedar scented smoke oil! Like the MPC steam special. I own, and enjoy operating, big LTI version with Williams coaches. And now back to my scale Conrail layout ☺

I started collecting about 2 years ago. I'm 70 and I get a real kick out of the depth of your collection. My collection is on public display in Nicholson, Pennsylvania, with a full panoramic view of the Tunkhannock Creek Viaduct. Located in northeastern Pennsylvania, The Lackawanna Cut-off, as it is otherwise known, is the world's largest concrete and steel reinforced railroad bridge in the world, built by the D.L &W from 1912-1915, and was a monumental part of the development and history of the PRR. Once again, I really enjoy your artistry and your enthusiasm.

I'm a novice with model railroading. Other than the trainsets I got as a child. I recently gained a new interest in watching videos of them. I came across your channel and I love this video. I'm a bigger fan of the more modern diesel engines than of the old fashioned steam engines. My favorite is the ones with the "cat whiskers" on them. I'm not quite sure what the professional name would be, but I'm fascinated by them. Love your videos and wish I had enough time and cash to invest in a set up like yours.

Thanks for watching Darryl! I am big fan of the modern diesels as well. So many different models out there to pick from and run.

The original Irvington cars were made of Bakelite. The same material telephones were made out of. They are a caustic material that will resist painting therefore they were not painted they were just the natural color of the Bakelite.

What you need, is one of those starter 2-6-0s or other small starter sets, I’ve heard alot of people like them.

Awesome! We haven't had working train sets like that since I was a kid. We still have the trains, but I don't think we have enough track in working condition anymore to run them, and most of our trains can barely run if at all now, several of them are multiple generations old I believe. My mom's favorite is the red and silver Sante Fe.
