We follow a typical day's trains at Loch Doune, the sleepy village somewhere in the Scottish Highlands. Alongside the single coach passenger train, there are fish vans taking the catch from the Loch to market as well as grain hoppers supplying the local distillery.
We start our day trainspotting with the Loch Doune branch loco - a Bachmann Standard 4MT tank, hauling the branch coach with a fish van attached. Fish is a major traffic source for the branch, as Loch Doune is famous for its seafood.
After that, the branch goods train arrives behind a Hornby J36. More vans, this time with cement to be taken to the construction of the nearby Hydro Scheme, and a load of coal for the station yard. Yesterdays now empty coal wagon is collected, and the train leaves.
The branch passenger train returns, but the highlight of the day is an appearance of a BRCW Type 2 (later Class 26) from Heljan on a train of Grain Hoppers - the famous 'Whisky Blue' wagons. This is shunted into the local distillery (not modelled), and the empty van is now collected.
The final train of the day is the branch passenger train, this time with an empty fish van in tow. This is shunted into the bay, ready for the fishermen to load it up overnight, while the coach is shunted into the loop. The loco then settles in the Engine Shed overnight.
