5. Frequency/Consistency "less more often" 4. Form & technique 3. Don't go too hard at first; nose breathe while running and if you can't nose breathe, then walk until you can run again while nose breathing (keep it easy so you enjoy it) 2. Think of what competitive personally means to you 1. Mistake: Daily goals too big, long term goals too small... Solution: GO AFTER BIG GOALS to give you the patience and consistency for the daily grind!!

Dude this hits me right. I started running for the first time in the spring and I quit my job in this summer and have been living out of my prius, just trail running and boondocking throughout the west.

Thank God, I just ran into the most important insights I wish I had learned when i started running in club three years ago ! Maybe it's not too late to start over again after getting injured too frequently...

Wonderful advice! I was getting tired of just watching shoe reviews on KZfaq and now really discovering the depth of your channel with every video I watch from you. Amazing scenery which also inspires. In these COVID days I am not the most « connected » person and always run alone, but will spread the word in my running club when it reopens...

You’re a blessing. As I return to running by utilizing proper training this time around (rather than just half assing it) this video is so timely! 🙏🏽

Thank you so much! This is exactly what I needed to hear right now. I keep injuring myself, and I think a large part of the reason why is because I’m not following this advice. Just wanna also let you know that I did my part and forwarded this on to a friend.

Great videos Eric, always spoken with sincerity and intelligence... I’ll be your courier and spread the word! I’v had Afib for many years so HR monitor training doesn’t work well so if you ever get chance to speak about using alternatives for AeT/ endurance/easy run training I’d love to hear it sometime!! Thanks for the channel and the great coaching.

So excited to hear this...keeps reinforcing the mantra, easy, light, fast; but if only get easy, that's ok too. 4 bucket list life goals so far, for this 'new' runner (~1yr) ... Coming to run with you in Tetons is on there. Be well, I will be out there someday

I am from Florida and in July of last year about six months into my journey as a runner when I was starting to create some cardio fitness I didn’t take elevation into consideration because we don’t have that here in Florida and I thought I would takeoff up into the Tetons and on that same path you are on I about ran myself to death LOL. Talking about unintentionally not taking it easy LOL.

Love the plan, love the video. I have just found you on youtube. I just ran my first 50 mile ultra and came away with 6 blood blistered toenails, caught a few ricks and roots. I cannot find a video on the subject to teach a new trail runner to stop the toenail carnage. Can you adress this with a vudeo or direct me to one. Thanks so much.

Welcome, glad you found the channel and congrats on your race. First off, minimizing blisters start with your downhill form. So check out this one of mine. I will address other things in a future video, thanks for the idea. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/pruhaKtev7DYcZs.html
