Hi Jim, I hope you found the magic ticket that will repair Grace. I bought a Pacific Seacraft Flicka and have mixed feelings about sell Tramontana. For now I’m hanging onto her while I try out the Flicka. It is nice having more comfort and being able to cruise in the winter months.

I@@davidyoung5321 I have always had a thing for the Flicka's too. Well with you and Randy going from M17 to Flicka, maybe I will have to keep my eyes open for one. I guess that does not match my downsizing to the Scamp and Norseboat but you can't argue with a comfortable cabin especially sailing up in your area. Looking forward to some videos from the new boat. Just got a GoPro myself and starting to play with it. Way behind the curve on editing but I should get that figured out before long.

Hi Chris, it’s been fun modifying Tramontana and turning her into a pocket cruiser that meets my needs. There is a change in the future, I bought a Pacific Seacraft Flicka. I decided that a little more comfort would be nice on my longer journeys. I have mixed feelings about getting rid of Tramontana I need to make sure I like the Flicka. Tramontana is a capable little pocket cruiser that has keep me safe for several thousand miles.

@@davidyoung5321 that's exciting news David. The Flicka looks like a very capable boat. If it wasn't for the whole of the north and south Pacific I would make you an offer for Tramontana 🤠 Good luck with the changes. Looking forward to seeing how it all goes.

Hi Bob, thanks for following my channel and taking the time to comment. My Stanchions have support braces on each side. They are backed with a solid metal backing plates making them very strong and they are located towards the bow giving them a great angle for the preventer. I just unsnap the lower shackle and hook it to my stanchions base. Have you thought about placing a stainless steel pad eye, in a good location, to hook your vang to. Thanks again, David

@@davidyoung5321 Hi again David. Thanks for the quick reply and my apologies for hitting back so late. I have a Catalina 320 so my vang is what I would consider permanently attached (unless requiring service of course). I have mid-ship cleats but they are on top of my cabin top which I've used. I wish they were mounted more outboard to create a better angle back to the boom. Given my increase loads, I'm reluctant to put that kind of pressure on my stanchions. I think my best play would be to add two additional cleats just forward of mid-ship as far outboard as I can get to below to properly secure. Hi Mike, I looked at West Marine but they didn’t offer a dinghy 7’ 2” in length and that was only 58 lbs. I wanted a boat small enough to blow up in my cockpit, the Saturn worked perfectly. Happy that I bought it before they stopped making the SD260. David
