8 years on and still it's the best and most memerable game i've ever been to! Even now watching it again it brings tears to my eyes. Andy Gray at 1.00 says 'surely that puts the tie beyond Tranmere' - what did he know? AMAZING! Such wonderful memories!!

Im a saints fan.. I've got to say...it still hurts now! I was there and I just couldnt believe what I was seeing! Got to hand it to you though, you deserved it really. And that was a very strong saints team out that day with the likes of James Beattie (when he was good), Wyane Bridge, Paul Jones, Dean Richards, Marian Pahars, Chris Marsden and many others. Typical saints to throw it away like that though...it one of at least 10 times we've done that in recent years!

I remember watching this live back in the day, probably one of the best football games I have ever witnessed.

funny story this, the same night my beloved Wycombe won their 5th round replay. With scores at 1-1 midway through second half we had a man sent off, our keeper saved a last minute penalty, at 2-1 down in extra time we equalised in the 119th minute and won on penalties 7-6 against Wimbledon, a truly memorable evening! Came out the ground and heard about this game on the radio, talk about having our thunder stolen!!!! What a great comeback from Tranmere, one of my favorite F.A Cup moments!

There was definitely something in the air that night. Even at 3-0, there was chanting and optimism after half time. The loud cheer for the first goal... people knew it wasn't just going to be a consolation!

I'm a Southampton fan, I remember this game, absolutely terrible it was for us, couldn't believe what I was seeing. Fair play to Tranmere though, they did bloody well.

Okay, amazing comeback, one of the best matches I've seen etc (and this is from a Bolton fan). But I do still find it funny how you had this "cup tradition" of knocking out the Premiership sides, and then Liverpool came and just did you in. Still, regardless, respect for this night, as Gray said absolutely unbelievable, and he means unbelievable!

Tell you what as a Bolton fan I still despise Tranmere and I mean that, but full marks for this game. Absolutely unbelievable game and Andy Gray is right when he says it's possible THE best ever FA Cup comeback. And that's the only credit you gits are ever gonna get from me!

Liverpool only got 3 back and won on penalties, both teams (Liverpool and AC Milan) had equal quality and bank accounts. Tranmere got 4, when bottom of the championship, against a team in the premiership with much more quality and money, i think this game wins.

Think about all the times he must have said that though at 3-0. He's got it wrong twice in what, almost 20 years of commentating... I think its not a bad record. Who would have disagreed with him at either the Milan game OR the Tranmere game at the time he said it?
