With all the dirt roads near your camp ground , maybe you should market to adventure riders. You could have pre-set trail rides on a separate website that folks could review, so they have a travel agenda during their stay camping.

Your skills and knowledge of the TAT will build through out the years as it offers you more challenges and beauty along the way. I think this year is only the beginning for you in regards to riding the TAT. So much opportunity, beauty and tough challenges still to be explored. I hope you enjoy every second of it! I have never rode the Tail of the Dragon, but I live in Roanoke, VA and we have roads that everyone who has road the Tail say blow that away. I recently went down to Marion, VA and road the Back of the Dragon about 100 miles from us here. It has sweeping curves, switchbacks, elevation climb, beautiful scenery and much more curves and 3x as many miles. That is a great ride and everyone claims its 10x better than the Tail. If your ever out this way, let us know, we got some guys that would definitely come out to ride with you.

Living in the Southeast, I have to agree with you Adam on the Tail of the Dragon. Definitely a bucket list item, but so many other roads to enjoy in the area. I've been on the Deagon about 5 times and while fun and technical, there's just too many idiots that put themselves and others at jeopardy. Just avoid the weekends, so you too can say veni vidi vici.

I could see you or Ashley possibly wanting a smaller more manageable bike for some sections in the western trip, like Big Bear Pass in Colorado, although doable on what your riding, a more manageable bike might be more enjoyable for a plan "B" The rocks will be fun in a Jeep but not so fun on any bike in sections.

Adam thank you for all your information on the TAT. Both my wife are Harley riders she ride a 12 Sportster 883 Super Low. I ride a 12 Electra Glide Ultra Limited. We are planning on do TAT in parts or maybe straight through that has not been determined. But neither of us have any experience in the off road world. I am 56 my wife is 55. I have been riding for 34 years my wife for 15 years. We both have done multiple long haul rides of 5000 miles or more. But we never bike camped. We are back packers so sleeping out in the boonies is not and issue. We are currently outfitting two 250 cc bikes for the adventure. Your navigation advise is huge. When we wheel in our Jeep or F250 I use maps. I don't rely of just GPS. To see you use the maps thank you for including that information. We are going to do some regional off road riding first. Traverse Georgia Trail. It starts on the Georgia South Carolina boarder and heads west to Alabama. It about 340 miles with 280 of it off road. Keep up the great work. Also both my wife and I love how your taking your time and enjoying the ride. So many KZfaq videos I have watched on the TAT have been on tight time frames and are all about the miles. Where is the the fun in that. I am not riding to boast to my buddies that I road here and there. I ride for the thrill of the adventure and to enjoy myself. Ride on, be safe, have fun, stop often, and enjoy the adventure. Keep up the great content we are loving it. Steve and Kristin

Okay. On the western section film more of the ride while it is happening less of the staged filming.. Note: you are about to get into some seriously more challenging trails once you hit Colorado. The Alpine loop section watch out for the tight switch backs with big loose rocks. Once you get to Ophir pass the west side is going to be a challenge with a big bike. Steep and lots of big loose rocks. Have fun.

Awesome work Adam, I look forward to the rest of your journey. I am planning a solo TAT trip next summer (2021) on my 2020 Honda CB500X with the Rally Raid level 2 kit. Your vids will really go a long way in informing myself and others on whats to come. However, could we get a little more vid time with you and Ashley just hanging out and vloging. Hey brother one question. It looks like I’m not going to have a two wheeler due to my right foot being cut to half. I’m ok with it but my balance is so off. I think to be safe I may need a three wheeler. Not an ATV but a trike. Do you think it could make it if I stayed on the easy trail roads? What do you think? I want to do the tat so bad. I hope you catch the dirt bike bug. But, the reason you had difficulty was because your bike was WAY too big. Get a dual sport a 400cc would be fine. Sometimes bigger is NOT better, this is particularly true off road. Those trails you were falling on looked pretty easy from the perspective of a guy that usually rides a 250. Off road, go light.

Adam I hope you continue to do the great work that you have decided to devote unselfishly your life for. No doubt many veterans have paid far more than most people will ever think about. I hope you know about Jesus and how he died also so that all of us who are sinners can be saved from an eternity in hell and spend eternity in heaven. I hope you have access to a Bible if so I encourage you to read Romans 10: 9&10. I like you have always felt bad because of not serving in the military I think it is so great how you are serving in your way. If you have never considered giving and living your life for God I pray you will. You made mention in one of your videos you thought God was watching out for you. I know he has been and I will continue to pray for you and all you are doing. God bless

How have the crash bars held up? Falling down in the rocks, did they prevent damage to everything else? I have a manual 2017 Africa Twin, I play offroad single track and logging trails/roads probably 50% of my ride time, I'm thinking I'm on borrowed time before I damage something so I'm due to get some protection on her. Looking at those crash bars, haven't seen any actual results on how they hold up. You picked the right bike to do the TAT, I had a DRZ 400, and the AT is just overall a better and more capable machine, just heavier.

I firmly believe that the outback motortek crash bars saved my Africa twin, in addition to the crash guard

What were the Maps that you used? Also where to get them? I'm riding from Colorado back to the east due to all the forest fires and closed roads on the BDRS out west.

Do you think a smaller bike would be better ? Like a 650 or 800? Just curious.

Adam, what are the most reliable bikes for folks (like me) that don't know much about how to make repairs and needs some reliability?

I would say check out the Indians. I haven't had any issues with either my chieftain or the Challenger that I have now.

I’m planning on doing the trip alone, I’m a single woman, with a 500 lbs bike Honda nc700x (dry weight and before it’s loaded down), do you recommend I do the trip by myself?
