Trans Voice - Common Mistake in Voice Feminization

If you're trying to lighten, brighten, or feminize the sound of your voice, one thing you need to become aware of is volume control. Sometimes adding too much loudness can increase something called vocal weight (the amount of vocal cord tissue that comes together when the vocal cords make contact). This creates an overfull sound, which is commonly perceived as forced or nasally.

I am not trans, but my fursona is a female so i kinda dress in a feminine way and as my sona and am trynna sound like her

I Love this...Thank You so much in helping me with my voice... using the F# and then you showing the difference really helped me...AGAIN Thank You...Can you do the same method but with full sentences...Either way this video really helped me to get on the right track with my female voice...LOVE😊

Im gonna give this a try later (it's 3am and I'm in bed unable to sleep lol) because i was recently told my voice sounded hypernasal but i did an exercise to prove i didn't have any nasality whatsoever. So your description of this problem sounds like it applies to me. Tho i still am not sure if the discomfort i experience when speaking and afterwards is related to this or something else entirely

reducing my volume doesn't seem to do anything to lessen the buzziness/brightness it just sounds quieter. I just can't seem to find the fine line between that and breathiness.
