Trans woman: Why I don't talk about "The Surgery"

It's a tale as old as time - once it is known that a lady was assigned male at birth, every person in the land simply must know: Is the lady hung?
Today we talk about genitals and why we don't really want to share stuff like that on our channel 😅
Considering that other trans folks are more than willing to share their stories and experiences, we feel like you might have a better time asking them ✌️❤️

You are both so adorable! My wife is trans and she and I find your content very helpful in these early transition stage. Also, I don't know if you're open to making this kind of content, but it would be so amazing if you guys did a "get ready with us". I love both of your styles!

That honestly makes us so happy :') so grateful to hear that we can make something that's helpful to someone! Ooohh that's such a good idea, we had no idea anyone would be interested in a video like that, but it sounds super fun, so we'll try to do that! Thank you for all the kind words and for the recommendation 🥰

Love this! You described it so well! I'm having GCS at the end of September, and have been starting to tell coworkers about my medical leave. I've had to stop a few before they ask that kind of question. I try to gently remind them that discussing such a surgery is very inappropriate in the workplace--not to mention how shitty it makes me feel to have someone ask me about my bits! You've got a new subscriber!

Hi thx for sharing this. For me as someone who's just realizing that I might be trans lesbian, I generally found it sort of frustrating that how 'few' of us are visible. Like, most of the trans women influencers I found on YT or elsewhere are almost all into MEN. Many have boyfriends and others have had a lot of experiences dating men, including those who're open to talk about things such as dating, hormones, surgery, etc. Which is something I don't think I'll ever be into. And I wished trans lesbians like you would share a little more because I won't be surprised if sexuality affects a trans women's preference on surgeries, especially the 'bottom' one. (And BTW as u might also know there're multiple options of the 'surgery', at least here in America, don't know what it's like in Europe, I heard certain options aren't available in certain European countries since the surgery is more or less covered by public health care and can thus get politicalized). Of course it's okay if that's not something you want to talk about. And I'm grateful that you're sharing all other things regarding being trans AND lesbian here, which increases our visibility. BTW data actually shows that we trans ppl have one of the most diverse sexualities compared to our cis counterparts. While the majority of the cis ppl are exclusively heterosexual (the lowest % I saw is about 80~85% heterosexual ONLY for cis population), for trans, we don't really have a 'majority' in terms of sexuality. And same data also shows that there's a plurality in bi/pan sexual usually, while pure homosexual and pure heterosexual are almost at the same level within trans people. Which btw, also means that we trans lesbians are more common than millionaires here in America (and most of the Western countries too I believe).

I’ll give you two a lot of credit, instead of doing what society wants you to do you’re sharing something that is unheard of on the Internet, you are sharing yourselves in a different perspective than everyone else. Ignorance means people don’t know, stupid means of course they know, but they’re gonna do it anyway. If they know they can get a rise out of you, they will continue. In today’s society not only do people hurt other people, they hurt other people to make themselves look and feel better. That’s very narcissistic, and petty, and sad, immature and just downright prideful, where no one else’s feelings matter other than their own. I’m sure this post will get some negative response from someone, I look at as it’s about the only purpose they have in life, that is negativity. And we know negativity breeds negativity, you two are doing great. You too are my sisters through Christ, I love you both. THANK YOU! Your Brother

Since I came out as transitioning, suddenly everyone is curious about my "junk" and what I am doing about it. My father is the worst so far. I got asked by him in a busy restaurant "So when are they cutting your balls off?" This was last week. Ironically he has said he is trans as well. Rude. With some it's mere curiousity and not meant to be offensive. Other times just so offensive and inappropipriate. There will be words with my therapist over this....grrrrrr...

I understand where you’re coming from, but I would be looking for advice on my situation: I am the non-op trans mtf half, and my wife of 56 years is the cis side, but unlike your situation, she is not a lesbian. I see myself as a lesbian, but we are intimate with me in minimal makeup, my hair to my chest, wearing nothing but a smile and she in a silk slip and full makeup. I still need a shot to make my thing stand at attention and we use it. If you two have a similar experience, I’d like to know whether it works in the long run. You two stay beautiful and lovely for each other. We envy your youth. I didn’t start my transition ‘til last year, even thought I knew I was trans from age 3.

I understand this, but as a cis woman I´ve talked to people who think they might be trans and their curiosity is not only based on how to judge trans people but to understand themselves better, from a psychological standpoint. For cisgender, the curiosity might be subjected to the fact that they are probably attracted to someone who is transgender, and might be curious about what to expect, what to ask, what to think... maybe they find in you someone who can guide them. Not everything is about judgment, and in psychology, since we´re kids and confronting the unknown, we do question our genitalia and the one´s around us... think of us as kids who might be confronting this reality for the first time.

Whrn you make your life public, when you earn your living based on "who" you are ... people will ask. I don't hate them for asking ...I don't hate you for refusing. But fact is, you're even making a video on the fact that they asked. This is how you earn your living. You made it so. No matter what the premise of youtubers' channels, it always surprises me when they get offended by questions on that very premise. If you don't want to answer certain questions, just say so and move on. KZfaqrs of al sorts LOVE to make "someone said a hurty word to me" videos. Lol. It brings in the views, for sure. But it's wildly intellectually dishonest.

@@WivesVsWorld Agreeing to disagree is the thesis of my comment. You get social currency (and real currency) from making videos based on "who" you are, whether it be trans, gay, a homesteader, an rv traveller, a religious person, etc. When a person has a homesteading channels then gets offended about questions on ... homesteading... it always makes me laugh. Sure, don't answer if you don't want. But being offended in a "why are you asking me a hurty question based on the topic of my channel that I created!" is a bit intellectually dishonest.
@susansmith493
@susansmith493 2 жыл бұрын
@@WivesVsWorld Having a video saying "we built a greenhouse" .. but being offended about questions on greenhouses is akin to making a video entitled "my spouse is trans" but being offended about questions re being trans. Have at it, for sure. It's your channel. I 100% support capitalism and KZfaq channels are capitalism. I'm just saying it's a teensy weeny bit intellectually dishonest to be offended by questions based on your very own channel thesis.

@@susansmith493 There's more things besides genitals or what a person looks like naked when it comes to the trans experience. Besides she said multiple throughout the video that she understanss the curiosity, but that some people continue to insist upon asking even when she declines to answer. Why can't people take no for an answer? Isn't that rude? It'd be similarly impertinent to assume that one just can ask a couple about their sex lives. Yeah some individuals actively welcome such blunt questions, but in general it's understood to be a rude question - whether they are a husband and wife, two husbands, or two wives. People tend to forget their manners when they are overcome with feelings such as curiosity, but manners are still important.
