As a trans woman I can't agree more. Honestly not being able to compete should be something you have to acknowledge and accept while transitioning due to the natural biological differences. Unfortunately too many people have been raised with the "if I complain enough I'll get my way" mindset.

Wait what? You understand any ban on trans athletes would involve some sort of gross invasive genital check. ohh and what about cisgender atheletes who have to take hormones for medical conditions? Do we ban them cause its an unfair advantage too? Or do you just selectively hate trans people? IMO sports should be just like bathrooms are currently, if you're trans you use the one of your lived gender & no one cares. Also, bro watch a contrapoints video. Firstly, She's hot and makes brilliant informative vid on trans issues. 100% recommended watching for people who dont know much about what trans people want and think Trans people are rad, have always existed and always will. No matter wat little bans happen here or there. More trans kids will be born so theyre not going away, ban or no ban.

@@jord.an6123 allow me to destroy you. 1. Nobody cares. If a biological MALE tries to dominate female sports, they should have to go through far worse than a check. 2. People who take hormones for medical conditions are lacking that hormone, it isn't produced in their bodies at a normal level. A biological MALE competing against women doesn't need to take anything, they already have a natural advantage over the females. I don't care if that offends you in some way, I'm sure it does but it's 100% objective fact. If I see a man, a MALE!! go into the girls bathroom when there could be young girls, FEMALES, in there.... It was actually legal pressure from court rulings which said because they had no data they couldn’t exclude trans women. I suspect they think they have enough data now. @Danny Armstrong I'm a feminist and im not calling anyone who supports this transphobic, unless they show that they are of course. I'm totally fine with this ban, as long as it wasn't done for political/anti-trans reasons. It's understandable that sporting organisations need to take some time to come up with rules to make sport fair and inclusive for all athletes, cisgender or trans.
@glenecollins
@glenecollins 2 жыл бұрын
@Danny Armstrong some feminists there are Also TERFS who think your average trans woman is a man who just wants to get into women’s spaces. (And that all men generally should be rounded up and kept in camps so that women can go out at night and not be afraid.) A lot of the “arguments” people used were transphobic. “We made it so that trans women could compete after one year on blockers and they were able to compete at a higher level in the women’s competition than they did in they did in the men’s competition prior to transitioning” is going to do a lot better in court than “we think they are men because they have Y chromosomes so we aren’t letting them in”. If they get a panel of judges who are good at looking at scientific evidence the judges may just rule that they can only ban women who had testosterone levels >10 nMol/L or whatever for more than a few years. They don’t have evidence that someone who started taking blockers before their voice started to break is going to have a unfair advantage.

No trans activists argue that males and females arent different in a few ways. Trans people are acutely aware that their body doesn't match their gender. This ban makes sense as it gives time for sporting bodies to figure out how to fairly allow trans people to play sport. Thats a good thing There has always been and will always be trans people. Now we know that, the question is now how to make the world equitable for trans and non trans people. We shouldnt get so worked up about stuff.

If you actually knew any transwomen, you would have heard how they discuss the pain that they get from the anti-androgen medications as their muscles turn to marshmallow, they lose stamina because the hormones weaken the heart muscle ( which is why transwomen have a shorter lifespan than biological ones, or even men, without suicide as cause of death). Lung capacity becomes reduced over time, especially if they suspend training for the first three years of transition. I have known of many biological females who have been much taller and stronger than the average man. Most transwomen are not taller than 5'10", only in rare cases are they unusually tall. There are plenty of female basketballers who are 6'5" and in some cases taller and more solid than many men.

Someone suffering from gender dysphoria transitions because we want to fit in & blend in as seamlessly as possible in society living our lives. I personally do not want to draw attention to myself by putting myself in spaces that makes others awkward: women's locker room, washroom, women's sports etc. I'd use the private stalls if I had to or simply not be there. That used to be an issue for many many years ago but not anymore. I won't choose to insert myself in women's sports ever. Choosing to transition has it's advantages & some disadvantages. It's an adjustment I did for myself so I can comfortably fit into society & not to bend it to conform to my feelings alone. I won't ever claim I'm the same as someone born female. There are many things I can relate to or experiences I have that may overlap theirs, but that's it. And that's okay. I'm my own kind of woman being trans. Respect is earned & should never be demanded. I've watched your videos & I agree with most of them.

"Among the same gender there are also differences." Yes, that's why there are weight classes and similar things in a lot of sports even among the same gender. That's why if you want to bring in a new type of people you also need to come up with new rules and categories, even in sports that beforehand didn't have these differentiations. You have to reanalyze and reassess all these things with new data. And if it just so happens that you are too different from the other people that you don't fit in any category you'll have to have your own.

If they lose out it is phobic of one form or another and society 'has' to change or their feelings will be hurt and the backlash from that has ruined people. They're sexualising children at a young age and calling it progress, it isn't. It's a cult getting them whilst they're young to increase their numbers. I miss the gay community. When we were lgb or t and just wanted to live our lives with some modicum of decency and respect. Respect that we earned, not demanded. This new cult feels it is owed and drags the community down with it.

Wouldn’t you think that the most inclusive thing people could do for a group of transgender swimmers is to give them their own competitions? I just feel like it would be nicer to do that that way you can please both sides (mostly). Also, there are transgender men, biological women, competing against biological men. I think this group would benefit from the same idea.

@@Hydraclone I more mean as an aim towards trans athletes, being on estrogen for a long time, especially if you started younger does have an effect on certain aspects of physique, for instance muscle mass deterioration and weakened bone density, I’m not nearly as strong or fast now as I was being off estrogen. While yes there is the advantage there for trans women, they equally have disadvantage against men because of the physical changes that happen from being on estrogen and testosterone blockers for an extended period of time. What I mean is having a category where anyone can compete as long as you’re of a reasonable physique, would be quite interesting, like it would be fascinating seeing how say, a biological woman could out-manoeuvre a transgender man, or something like that, could even add rules that you have to be within a certain range of weight/strength class so it’s an even playing field all round, and so there’s no insane safety issues too. Like you wouldn’t pit a champion heavyweight against a lightweight beginner. I dunno, like I said, I don’t really care too much for sports, but I’m sure a lot of sports fans would kill to see a mixed-gender’s category.

Once a man, always a man... biologically. Presenting as a female does not change biology. Trans people dont like it, but they accept it. Blaire White is a beautiful example of this. If you had never known her to be trans, by the way she looks and sounds you'd automatically assume she was a woman. She has come to terms that, yes, she is and always will be biologically male. Biology doesnt have to shape who you are, but you have to acknowledge your own biologic advantages and disadvantages, whiich Blaire does, even though for all intents and purposes she is a woman.

I'm a female with a body structure naturally bigger and stronger than my peers in my country (we're all pretty tall and big in the family) . When I used to compete in combat sports (kick boxing, thai boxe etc) I had to train with the smallest of the men category in order to not bash in the face of the other females, wich were in the standard range of body structure. During official turnaments I never got to the 3rd round, they always gave up first, because I was "pounding them like a blacksmith". I lost only one match over the years because I retired for a knee which just gave up during the match (which has become my reason for retiring, my legaments were absolutely destroied) My ring name was "the anomaly" for good reasons. It's only fair that this decision has been made, because if even a biological woman like me can be that dangerous to other women a trans woman could be worse. You could do a mixed Trans division. Base it on a similar way boxers fight... by weight division. Someone like Lia Thomas can swim against another trans of either sex that is within her ability. Hannah Mousey can play in a field of mix trans of her size and ability and so on. That would be about as fair as it could get.

When I was 34 I was doing what is supposedly the hardest job in the world. I began running and cycling (triathlon and duathlon). I trained for 8 months after, and during, work, and went to the Australian duathlon championships, and came 38th. I beat all the women, and all the teams. It only took me 8 months of "part time" training to be able to beat all the women in Australia?!

When I was in Highschool doing Rugby in class, my teacher told me I was only allowed to run 20 yards, since I'm 6ft3/191cm (and was at the time, I grew very quick) and then I had to pass. Otherwise I'd drag half the other team across the ground by my legs and still score a try, which I did on many occasions, causing this new rule. Even as a child I understood and didn't whine. I had a huge advantage over the other kids. It's annoying to see these grown children not able to see the same reasoning.

I'm nearly 60 years old... been a man all my life. I have a friend; he's 29 - but he was a woman until age 21. He's a gym rat - 6 times a week - pumping iron, doing cardio, etc. I'm not a gym rat - I was until about 12 years ago but now I just cycle, run and do resistance exercises at home (plank, push ups, etc, yada, yada). Now, my young friends arms are bigger than mine - he's got pipes! Still - even though I'm nearly 30 years older than him - I smash him everytime he challenges me to arm wrestle, to a timed push up competition or a timed pull up competition. I know it's anecdotal but it seems to follow the science of biology, doesn't it? I reckon that by the time I hit 70 and he's 39.... he'll probably be stronger then... yup stronger than a 70 year old man. 🤣🤣🤣

I don't understand why, if you want to compete that badly, they don't make it so trans people have their own category. Trans men against trans men and trans women against trans women. That way you can still compete but everyone is starting on a level playing field.
