The bike is FINALLY 100%! It has been fun bringing this bike back to life and I'm VERY pleased with how it has turned out. I'm looking forward to putting down some serious miles on the bike and I know it will be a blast!

My ABS light stays on. Thats the only issue I have had. I have brakes, but no ABS. Not a big deal

Nice job ,you really took care of a great bike, i guess the previous owner just didn't give a crap and wasn't aware of what they had, i have owned 2 v st 650s a d one 1000, i really miss the riding i ised to do, and you will love that Sargent seat, your butt will thank you on Long rides, im currently in the Philippines but will be back to Georgia early next month, and i will be shooting for a good used Strom , thanks for the video ,😎👍😎👍

Thank you! I do in fact enjoy the Sargent seat, a lot. Last year a couple of friends and I went on a multiple day trip, stayed in a hotel and did a lot of local riding around Robbinsville and the tail of the dragon. We all ended up with over 1,000 miles once we were home. The seat didn’t let me down.

Nice refresh..I have a 08 650, very under rated bike-crazy how usable a bike it is for insanely low cost... I also had a gen 1 1K, but prefer the 650, mine is setup similar with the 3 bags, has a bash plate, center stand, added a ebay fork brace (recommended) running Shinko 804/805's for gravel/and some mild trails..slow the pace and is quite capable-clearance is it's biggest issue. On the road it absolutely rocks, plenty of power but not "go to jail fast" and agile.. also, for me, a Madstad bracket and MRA Vario screen gives me clean air, and I can lower it for when I'm off pavement for better view of the terrain, an Alaska Leather sheepskin was worth the price also..have fun and enjoy this awesome econo adv ride..
