T1 Megatron will always be the most horrific version of him. He was practically a WWII Nuke to the Autobots. They feared him to no end, knowing full well they had to retreat back, and fighting wasn't even a viable option for them.

Bad plot aside, I love how Michael Bay directs CGI elements and blend them with practical sets and actors, it just looks very seamless. The transformations are better than AoE but they're still too quick and flexible, not very realistic as the first one

Optimus doesn’t transform once in this movie, a shame considering his vehicle mode and transforming animation is awesome. I also notice other than bumblebee’s “half transformation” fighting barricade, they almost never use their vehicle modes in fights anymore, which made for some of the best action (ex. Autobots vs. the dreads in Dark of the Moon)

Same. Maybe because they don't transform during fights. They only form when they're in one spot like they stop in vehicle mode and then transform. Would've been better if they used the transformation aspect of it during battle.

It’s cuz they all suck. Unlike transformers 1,2,3 and a little bit of 4, transformers the last Knight doesn’t care anymore about their complex transformations. Every transformation makes each transformer turn or roll to hide the transformation and make it suddenly change. Every transformation has done this to an extent, but they made it too excessive. Look at Hound, his transformation just rolls and boom, he’s suddenly a robot. Megatron just spirals and boom, he’s a robot, Bumblebees transformation got caught in an explosion to hide a lot of the transformation so they could all spend less money on better CGI. If you thought Drift looks weird in this movie, you’re right, he does because they didn’t spend as much quality time on his design so the franchise could spend less money. I don’t blame them tho.

I feel like these movies stopped putting effort into the transformations at some point. Now they just kinda look like blob shifting from a car shape to a persom shape and the transformers incorparate barely any details of the vehicles

Personally, I feel like _Age of Extinction_ was the lowest point in terms of transformations. This film's transformations are fast, sure, but they have a rather unique organic feel to them that distinguishes them from every other CGI-ridden sci-fi film that came out in the last three years or so. Seeing how the last hour of the film or so takes place on a huge Cybertronian ship and on Cybertron itself, I think it's safe to say that they've started putting more work into action scenes and scenery than in transformations.

These writers just love toying with Barricade. He's like Bumblebee's rival in 1 then is never seen in the final battle, gone in 2, appears again in 3 but we don't know wtf happened to him, gone again in 4, and now he's back with a different look but yet again he peaces out during the final fight.

The transformations were so lazily done. They literally just shift from vehicle to robot in an instant, with just a few parts slightly shifting. No intricately engineered transformations like in the first three movies.

Thanks for saving us a bunch of time. It's disgusting how from Transformers 4 onwards they really cut down on the number and sequences of transformations. If only more money had been spent on what really mattered and less on crapola that didn't, we've have a shorter, more satisfying and better movie.

Anyone else realise that this movie would make the bumblebee movie non-canon? I mean think about it, bee was (from this movie) on earth in the 1940's. But in the Bumblebee movie he arrives in the 80s/90s. 1:35
