Now *THAT* is a good looking Prowl figure. Ironhide's pretty cool too, I just wish he came with the missile launcher.

I'm just going to say this. I love the fact you are a fan in addition to being critical of certain aspects of the toy itself. It helps in your review. That said, I definately want these two even though it is kind of double dipping with the Siege toys.

Ironhide’s shield also has a quad-barreled blaster in the part that sits over his feet in vehicle mode. The 5mm peg used for him to wield it in robot mode is on a slider that lets them extend.

Prowl's Siege head is way more 'G1' accurate than his Earthrise head. In fact, minus the paint, I'd say Earthrise is rockin' Bluestreak's head.

In fairness, as this line is an homage to G1, you have to remove a helluva lot more from G1 Ironhide than just the roof

Like ironhide or not, it's way better than his g1 appearance

Fun fact: Siege Ironhide had silver thighs, black shoulders and hands back when he was showcased in SDCC 2018.

Prowl’s one of my favorite characters (thanks primarily to IDW). Already have this preordered & not second guessing yet. If they released an Earth Ratchet (other Autobot favorite, also for IDW), I’d be ecstatic. Bonus points for red headcrest.

Why they aren't doing opaque windows for the entire Earthrise line as per the Prime and Cliffjumper figures is beyond me. Would hide the interiors better.

Iron hide looks 90% done, just missing the finishing touches. Maybe toy hax (I believe they are called) could release some window decals. Also, just looking at the comparison with the siege iron hide, is the red on the panel around the back wheels more the colour match for the rest of the earthrise iron hide? It seems to be from my view but I could he way out.

Prowl is perfect. Ironhide has issues on both modes, exposed feet on alt mode and roof becomes shield or cape on robot mode. Overall he looks good without the shield.

Ironhide looks damn good, and I bet a 3rd party source can fix that shield kibble. Another double hinge joint would be perfect to allow it to fold up correctly.

I'm actually very happy with the partsforming, its nice to have a big shield for once, and it does integrate into the vehicle mode

the last prowl I have bought was back in the universe line... this version is so getting out of my collection! same smokescreen universe if they made a blustreak out of this mode, that wold be perfect!! so glad I preordered this set and the conehead too!! I think that thrust will be released as a special set, à la Siege Skywarp...

Looks great. I'm totally getting a repaint of that mold that isn't Barricade or the Prowl bros.

Great review. I would have wanted these so much when I was a kid. Even with the flaws, and my gripes about the seekers' waists, they really do look like the cartoon, and it is better late than never. Hey, relax knowing people will be watching this 10 x in a row.

Hasbro I hope re-release Ironhide, Prowl and Ratchet under the Voyager 86 line and with improvements. 86 Studio Series is a big deal and is the reason transformers lives on for many of us. It's the progenitor of all this.

I'm liking this two-pack. I may not care for the vehicle mode for Ironhide but it was a way better representation in robot mode than the Generation one Hasbro put out like 10 years ago. Still keeping my pre-order of them! :)

It looks like you can pop those thruster/guns out of Ironhides shield by sliding the arm peg down. It looks to be on a track system of sorts.

I genuinely do not mind the roof being detached honestly. I mean, He was a parts former to begin with & it looks more like a Shield than the Cliffjumper molds, but I can’t find a good priced Siege Ironhide anywhere near me so I’m glad that I pre-ordered this set & the Conehead set.

I can see Ironhide (Earthmode) and Ratchet getting a 3rd party upgrade with new feet and perhaps even some new wheels. even if someone just does something with 3D printing the feet shouldn't be to hard to do better. Perhaps if they do another Centurion style set they might give the characters some of their missing weapons back too. Hopefully the desire to make an Earthrise upgrade kit is strong that it was for Crosshairs - as I'm still waiting for that to happen.

As a kid I always liked weapons that parts-formed into the figures way more than ones that just hung out and sat awkwardly on their vehicle modes. Arcee’s is kinda bad, but the shield for ironhide looks great

part of the reason for the parts forming on this and some figures is to liken them more to the g1 figures. this means the top of the van should become some kind of sled for ironhide like his original toy

Its a bad idea to make main characters exclusive but they are doing it to make room in the main line for all the beast wars figures that they are going to put into the line with kingdom since it will be the last of the 3 year planned line.

Prowl is such a home run while the wait continues for a definitive earth mode Ironhide.

The main things I would have changed about Earthrise Ironhide would be to make a new mold for the feet to give him back doors of his van mode, and make the back window panels clear plastic with red paint like the middle window panels are. Those are the main changes I can offer that wouldn't alter the overall design too much, while still improving the vehicle mode.

With Ironhide, I think the Allspark or Teletraan-1 would have half of his shield seperate, go up slightly and slide over the other half giving him a more armoured back. Something that would be too fragile for a toy unless it were made of graphine. And probably some sort door swing on his feet that might also fold up or whatever that may also be too fragile for plastic.

This is a definite grab for me

You've missed a trick. The peg inside Ironhide's shield is a slider, that pushes out the 4 tubes in the shield's rear, making for a quad-cannon type of weapon.

I switched prowls heads when I got it. The siege has the g1 prowl head while the earlier has a bluestreak shaped head

If they made Ironsides roof transform into some sort of sledge and include the cannon that came with siege ratchet it would be reminiscent of the g1 figure and I would find it more likeable.

I can definitely get past the flaws on ironhide and I really like both of these figures. Will definitely be copping both of these

I would get this set for the Prowl only, we haven’t had a decent Prowl in a while in my opinion. ( not counting siege, siege is also good )

Prowl looks great, no question. Really puts the Siege mold to shame. I wasn't as annoyed with the Siege version as you, but damn this is so much better. Ironhide... he looks alright. Probably the best pure-G1 Ironhide (CW doesn't count, Classics(?) was abysmal), but he suffers so much from being a Siege retool. The exposed feet I could forgive on Siege since it's Cybertronian, but here it's horrendous. The bit of shoulder on the window doesn't help. The shield I don't really mind since it's G1 accurate.
