Thats the entire point of these films. The bay films deserve criticism but people forget that they are popcorn blockbusters. Did they really think they were gonna get a deep story with fleshed out characters? I mean the entire franchise started off as a toy commercial for gods sake.

Not sure how to feel how they toned down all the machinery effects. But the designs are more faithful to the actual transformers... So I guess it's up to the movie itself.

I remember watching the animated beast transformers as a kid like it was yesterday. They would drop into an unknown land and would scan for lifeforms and would choose the form / animal in the vicinity. It's nice to see them come to the big screen.

Honestly I loved the cartoon as a kid, but found this preview embarrassing to even watch. Why the hell is optimus primal acting all aggressively, and then acting shocked that optimus prime saw him as a threat? Maybe don't roar and beat your chest if you dont want to be seen as a threat lol.

I'm cautiously optimistic. One thing that this series has always managed to do at its best is to really push the limits of visual splendor, and this looks right up there with some of the wildest CGI and set pieces I've seen. Might actually be worth a big screen visit!
