Great video! Finally somebody explains how to set the shoe-drum clearance properly!

Great tutorial, very informative. I used this to fit a new hand break cable (110 Defender 300 tdi CSW) when mine snapped. On the two spring retainer clips. I didn't have a special tool to get those back on, so I compressed the spring, put a cable tie round each side to keep it compressed and refitted them. Once in place I cut off the cable ties, making sure I got all the bits out. Worked as a field fix without the special tool.

I know your not doing much landrover videos but a tip with those spring retainers is put a couple of small cable ties around the spring there sort the rest.

Great guide thank you and have used to replace the snapped cable on my D2. Decided to replace the shoes and springs too. I'm currently stuck trying to get the retaining springs back on. There's no room behind the backplate to keep the pin sticking out ie you can't get your hand behind to stop it disappearing when you try to push the spring down. Any idea how to get around this? I'm stumped. 🤔

Hi, wonder if you can point me in some direction please. My 2008 defender tdci instrument cluster rev and speedo cluster stopped working. I have bought a new one but want my old mileage on the new unit which is obviously sitting a zero. Mine is close to 90k and i want it as it reflects the services i have done. What happens if you adjust it close ? My handbrake holds within 2 level clicks .. while coasting low speed i heard knocking/clunking ? Is that the issue from having it close ?

Do you have to remove the drive flange to change the prop-shaft bolts by the hand brake drum?

I've had a look for a video for the rod type hand brake but can't see it? Have you guys made a video on it. I'd really be thankful if you have. Be nice to have one again on my 90 haha

Might have to take the handbrake drum off to get better access to the transfer box filler plug - broke an extension trying to budge the darned filler plug!

I hav an 06 range rover. 98k miles. When i drive, is shows transmission fault limited gears . And it does not go pass the third gear. Any one have similar experience?

What a poor overcomplicated system. Always leads to cable breakages. Why did they ditch the old system. Note you did not cover the cable replacement.
