Taylor finishes up the "new" transmission for Clementine and gets it installed. We also take a special trip to North Carolina...

Oh how we love to see you struggle! Makes us feel better cause if you struggle, we know we are not the only ones. Got my 71 Ghia back on the ground after 3 years and drove around the yard 4 times. Nothing broke…yet. The engine that came with it is a 66 1300 case with 1600 jugs. I did a top overhaul with new 1600 parts and it seems to run good and does not knock, decent oil pressure. Like your engine, time will tell…. Keep up the great videos

I love buying dumb things. Good luck. Anyone that has ever worked on these cars know, they can be a pain at times. They are very simple cars, however everything has to be right for them to run. I think you are close and will be running it down the road soon. Clean out or replace the tank and fuel lines. Charge that battery. And static time the engine (sounds a little off?) and off you go. Thanks for the vid.

I've recently started looking for all those special gearbox tools you need to rebuild a box properly. So many guys are retiring of late and it's the only thing I can't fix on the bug.
@wickedwerks4 ай бұрын
Yeah me too. I’m glad I didn’t need anything special for this box, but a later swing or an IRS will definitely require some special stuff.

Like the way you "hoofed" the transmission . I believe the Germans say hoofenhausen . 😄

Well that was a bummer… 😂 The repop tank form cip1 is a good tank, just make sure you order the proper gas cap for it. Can’t wait to see what you get into next.
@wickedwerks4 ай бұрын
I was gonna ask if you got yours from CIP or Wolfsburg! Glad to hear they’re good. I think that’s going to be my best bet. The hump tank I have is trashed.
@VWJawbreaker4 ай бұрын
@@wickedwerks the hump tank I had was trashed as well. I tried to save it but it’s more work than I wanted to put into it. Plus then I’d need tank sealer, etc vs a new tank and I don’t have to worry about anything. I did have to add a breather port on the tank as the gas cap was not vented.

@@VWJawbreaker did you do a sending unit or keep the reserve tap?
@VWJawbreaker4 ай бұрын
@@wickedwerks got rid of the reserve tap since mine was completely jacked. I added a sending unit and a vent hose.
