Transversus Abdominis - Most Important Muscle To Strengthen For Inguinal Hernia

My Natural Hernia Cure

I have another video where I talk about how I do the ab vacuum to strengthen the muscles around the inguinal canal, but have been doing a lot of research on the musculature involved with allowing the hernia to bulge out. It's all about the transversus abdominis. The deepest layer of muscle wrapping all the way back to your spine. I don't think doing it the other way is necessarily bad, bad I believe doing it this way targets the transversus abdominis alone much better.
Remember, I am not a trainer. I'm just a guy trying to figure shit out as I go along on a continuous learning path. Do not take anything I say as medical advice, and always consult a professional before doing any exercises.
Here's the two links for the surgery videos I was talking about in the video:
• No mesh inguinal herni...
• No mesh indirect ingui...

Think you have cracked the secret to this. Might explain why so many Pilates moves help with hernias. I know that when I do stomach vacuum exercises regularly - my hernia doesn’t come out. No matter how much lifting and bending I do. As soon as I get lazy - bam - the hernia starts popping out again. Looks like the TA holds it all in and strengthening those muscles is key. Thanks for sharing.

Oops, sorry it’s taken so long to reply! Yes, as long as I keep up with an work routine of some kind, the hernia is not noticeable to me. But for awhile I had stopped going to the gym, it was about a year. Some people I loved died during the pandemic so, chalk it up to grief I guess. The hernia came back but I just took up the an work again and it mended. I really like the v-up machine at Planet Fitness to get that inguinal area.

Hi George, I just discovered your blog and videos, and will definitely check out your tips. I am just curios about your video here after reading about transversus abdominus and hernia on Wikipedia. The author mentions that the most well known exercise is the vacuum exercise. Paragraph 2.1 (exercise) here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transverse_abdominal_muscle However, looking at the article about vacuum exercise the author specifically discourages exercising the transversus abdominus for persons predisposed for inguinal herniation.... If the hernia is not allowed to poke out through the abdomen, it would not strangulate. For me, that was the most important part of everything I did, was to make sure that the hernia is never allowed to pop out.

Put a cushion on a chair an another one on the floor next to the chair, then lie down with your buttocks and sacrum on the floor cushion and your calves up horizontal on the chair cushion. You can just relax in this position, or play with the belly-sucking techniques shown in this and related videos. Oh yes, and kegels. Raising your pelvis with the floor cushion helps gravity to help you.
@MyNaturalHerniaCure
@MyNaturalHerniaCure 5 жыл бұрын
I don't see why not. Only difference is at the same time as you are tightening the transversus abdominis, you would do a kegel. From the research I have done, it is important to keep the spine in a neutral position and not to tilt your pelvis posteriorly. Once the pelvis tilts, you are including the inner and outer obliques in the exercise and losing focus on the transverse.
@musicmadmat8959
@musicmadmat8959 5 ай бұрын
Would it help to do the exercise on a reclined bench, so that the head is lower than the feet, and take advantage of gravity as well to pull in the protrusion? In my head the protrusion is coming “obliquely” out when we are standing, thus a body tilt between lying on your back and being completely upside down would be optimal to favour it going back in, no?

Thanks for the video. Interesting thought. Curing your own hernia. I’ve always heard it’s not possible. Why do you think it is? How long have you had this hernia you’re trying to cure? I am going on two years I think. How can we verify your progress? Or if you have one? Sorry for the questions. I don’t want to be skeptical but it’s hard not to be. and this has my curiosity peaked since I just saw a surgeon today. Interesting that I told him I would wait to call him to set a date and then I see this video. Hmmm.

Jeff Silverberg I’ve been at it for about 5 years now, but the first 4 I was figuring things out by trial and error with no results. Then everything started clicking and I was able to get the lump to go away within about 6 months or so. Take a look at my blog and my other videos and you can get the whole story. I’m not sure why I would choose to start writing a blog years ago if I didn’t actually have a hernia. What would be the point? Why would I waste my time doing these videos if I didn’t think they would benefit other people? I guess there is no way to verify my progress so you’ll just have to take my word for it. But this sure would be a weird thing to want to bullshit people about. The medical establishment will tell you a lot of things aren’t possible, like curing cancer, yet it’s being done in Mexico at the Gerson clinic every day. You can either believe what they tell you, and get surgery, or be proactive and get down to the root cause of the problem and fix it. Things are only impossible because they haven’t been done yet.

Did you ever experience increased pain around the hernia when you first started working on the breathing exercises? Maybe from muscle soreness/fatigue? I am experiencing more pain and taking a break from the exercises. Doing as much as I can to fix this naturally but definitely going to get it checked again by a medical professional. Thank you for your videos, I am also using one of the belts you designed. Very helpful.
