my favorite thing about the Stacy Fakename bit is that Hunch immediately clocked in episode 1 that Stacy Fakename wasn't a real name, and yet whenever anyone asks this man for an alias he WITHOUT FAIL defaults to the one he knows for a fact sounds fake as hell

When people question if Stacy is a man's name, I like to bring up actor Stacy Keach

We talk a lot about Zac being the word economist, but I don't think we talk enough about Trapp's absolute mastery of callback humour. He knows exactly when to bring back a joke for maximum elevation. He brought it out in Déja Vu with "Clean as a whistle" and "I'm like a modern day Aleksandr Solzhinitsen!" He wasn't the first person to make a recurring joke out of Stacy Fakename, but he was great at jumping on the bit long past the point where they _could_ have put it down. As Hunch he brought back "Case closed!" just rarely but often enough that it sniped every time. He brings back "Sam, where are you from?" every now and then to this day. He is an ICON. We have to appreciate him more.

Trapp is the master of the recurring bit. The earworm jingle was also brilliant.

Looking back and finding the definition for pseudonym as alias or author’s name sent me down a rabbit hole and realize there’s a snyonym called nom de gurre which in French translate to “war name” but they used Rambo as an example. All this to say I’m now imagining a French Soldier charging into war with a battle cry, screaming: “Cower Before The Ferocious Stacy Fakename”
