I've got a couple of suggestions (and that's exactly what they are - NOT telling you how to live) - Think about a mesh hood for when you're knocking heads so the bugs aren't in your face. It might not keep them off the rest of you but your head will be protected. Then take it off once you're done shooting as they can be a bit stifling. - Would knocking a small stake in at each foot of the trap help slow it down on that gravel? Only a few inches in and it would make it so much harder for them to move. I know it's more work for maybe not much gain, but it's a thought. - See if you can get a cooling vest. Often used in various sports, it's basically a light-weight vest or jacket made with a whole lot of pockets all over it to hold ice packs. Keep it in your cooler until you start overheating then take 5 and put it on. You're gonna get heatstroke otherwise. At least wet a rag and drape it around your neck. You'll feel 100% better. I live in Queensland, Australia and believe me mate, it gets hot here and I've done this to cool down. A few minutes with it on and in the shade will make a big difference. Keep fighting the good fight David.

I think the one hog you had to put down first was smart. He was eyeing the height of the trap and trying to get his front legs over the top. Keep up the good work and work smart.

Use some stakes to anchor your trap in place. You’ll need a pry bar to pull the stakes when it’s time to move your trap.
