Trapped in the ice but life still goes on! Narrowboat inspired by nature VLOG 35

With my narrowboat trapped on the frozen canal, I take a walk along the towpath to Bosley locks. There's lots of canal snow art shapes and breaking ice sounds. Listen to the song of the birds and calming music. Relax, tune in and absorb the tranquillity, stillness and beauty of nature's ever changing scene. ***Also includes an extra walk along the Macclesfield canal.
The Journey started here... I once lived in the fast lane of life, happily married of 26 years, with two children. That chapter was suddenly shattered by the sudden loss of my wife to cancer, which led me in to depression and homelessness. Waking up in hospital, after attempting to take my own life, with just a suitcase, kayak and bicycle and no money, I've managed to rise up out of the darkness and find happiness and continue my next chapter.
I'm a self taught film maker, and creating these vlogs, it gives me something to do, share my personal experiences as I continue my journey cruising and living life on the canal. Please do consider supporting my channel below... Thank you Dave

Another beautiful vlog, your photography is outstanding. I live in a large city the other side of the world but we are blessed with a wonderful foreshore with bush walks. If you stand or sit quietly the small birds in the undergrowth and surrounding trees will feel safe and come out and you can watch them. Always a joy 😊

winter time has to be my favourite time of year , its sooooo peaceful the scenery is amazing and the best bit is i can go home in the cold and light the log burner and just watch the flames all evening its better than any tv

The locks there at Bosley look to be in nice condition. Wintertime on the canal is one of the best times to walk along the towpath, it's nice and quiet and you find things to look at you might miss at a busy time. By the way, I really like the colours you painted your boat. Thanks for the video.

Have you ever seen a heron swim? Maybe they are a wader only bird. Do their young ever join them, I know they nest high in the trees so maybe they fly the nest and ‘the family’ no longer operates as a unit.

They're hopeless at swimming, not seen one swim only wade. The young stay around in the nest up to about 80 days or more! 🙏

It's 3 simple words that make perfect sense and I will share this with anyone who is going through a hard time or some difficulty. I lost my partner in July this year we had been together for 18 years and since I lost him iv really struggled with the pain isolation and loneliness it's been a really difficult few month if I'm honest David. Iv had friends and family giving me support and encouragement with promises of better days to come and times a great healer and countless other clichés and I haven't been able to believe any of it if I'm honest , don't get me wrong I appreciate the kindness and meaning but it's not made me feel any different. The 3 words you have said everything is temporary has opened my mind and hit me with positivity and iv started to see things a little differently tonight it's like a light has come on my friend and I thank you from the bottom of my broken heart for your wisdom your words and your kindness in replying to me you really are 1 special man and you have really made me feel so much better about myself and the future tonight as I say I will share your words of wisdom with anyone who needs it in the future and point them in the direction of your amazing channel. Not since I started living on the canal but I do know on rare occasions in the past they have frozen over and people have skated on them. But generally its too thin to skate on and melts within days. During the industrial revolution, when boats where pulled by horse they had icebreaker boats!
