Firstly, I really want to thank you, as you didn't scroll past this video - that means a lot to me!!! THANKS. Hope I will inspire you to maybe start renovation/ restoration of that piece of furniture you have been thinking to do but still haven't started. It can be long and tricky process, when you dont have experience, but definitely can be extremally rewarding when you finish. Guess what - it doesn't need to be even perfect. As for me, this is first time I have done so complicated process and it wasn't easy, but worth every second. As now we have a great furniture to enjoy! This is not a tutorial by any means, it is rather encouragement! I wanted to show that you don't need special tools to make things happen... Many people focus on gear too much... Of course if you are pro it helps to have better tools when you do job everyday. But to average person it makes no difference. Plus it doesn't matter if you do it in a few days or a month... be patient give yourself plenty of time. ...more in the description... Btw... How did you come across this video ? Understated….gorgeous chair restoration! I have a similar Stratford Chair Co. chair, but mine is more mission-style quarter-sawn oak. After more than a year in my basement, it still awaits my attention; while I have cleaned it, and pulled many of the tacks and decorative nails, I’ve been hesitant to pull the material because I’ve never done upholstery work. I was thinking a leather or leather-like material….but yours came out beautifully. Your video has me once again excited to continue. BTW, I appreciate that you used a simple Stanley stapler versus a pneumatic device! Thanks so much for documenting your talents!

A beautiful chair and your work suits it perfectly. I have a very old grandmother chair that I had professionally restored but the fabric they used has faded (even though it was never in direct sunlight) so now I have to recover it and make it presentable again.
