I was lucky enough to be at this concert live, was 23 or 24 at the time and it was by far the best, livest, close encounter of a concert I've ever been too. It will go down as one of the best times of my life. It's so flipping sad that we will never hear this collab again aside from replays.

I have never understood why more hip hop artists don't use a live bands. It brings a much bigger energy that you can't replicate any other way.

It's an amazing thing to see artists from different genres and different walks of life come together and make beautiful music babies together! It's a good thing they played a small venue, cause any of these songs would level a stadium 😅

Mike Shinoda, the guy from Linkin Park rapping, is known as Fort Minor and was signed under Jay-Z and made Whered You Go, and Remember the Name, you probably have heard those songs.

The album with Jay Z and Linkin Park is so great. Linkin Park got me through some real rough times as a teenager. So cathartic.

What was so cool about the whole project was that it wasn’t the usual mashup that people will do where it’s throw lyrics on a different beat. They actually worked on the project like an album. Jay z even decided to re-record his lyrics to match the beats. You don’t see that often at all nowadays

Jayz is one of the last rappers alive who still tell a story, and it isn't just a bunch of random sentences thrown together.

I love the shot of Jay Z surveying the crowd, smiling and nodding his head along. The satisfaction of seeing what this collaboration does to people. I was fortunate enough to see LP early on in their career when they were touring the Hybrid Theory album. They were part of a festival line-up, and going in I thought they were just another flash in the pan, nu-metal band. How wrong I was. Their live sound and energy was so crisp they immediately won me over. Truly talented.

I saw Linkin Park in KC 2011... first concert I ever went to and it was so sickkk... they're one of those bands that sound better live than in studio

This was a special event hardly anyone knew it was happening. It was live performance un the Roxy theater and only a handful of fans could find tickets. It still was packed.

That was the best mini concert ever performed! I have the CD when it came out and still watch it. You should watch the whole concert!

I hung out with Chester for about 2 hours with his kid and wife in Disneyland. Such a humble dude, no one recognized him but he was super cool with me and we went on rides together so fun.

This concert was exclusively for Linkin Park's fan club called LP Underground and Jay-Z's fan club which I don't know the name of. They only had 200 fans each at that concert. Linkin Park fans didn't know that Jay Z was going to be there and Jay Z fans didn't know that Linkin Park was going to be there. Each ticket was $1,000. It was done in Las Angeles, California. This was done for MTV Mashups. MTV only did 1 episode of MashUps because Linkin Park and Jay Z did so well that they didn't think they could top this collab.

We see alot of collaborations these days between musicians of all stripes/genres/abilities but nothing will ever have the feeling of authenticity and respect than when these guys hooked up to make the Collision Course E.P. They were both equally at the top of their respective games and opened up so many peoples minds to the idea that different genres could co-exist in the same space.
