@@PokemonHell but if one's ONLY goal or interest was to learn about chess, there are many other options out there that would satisfy that singular goal more thoroughly and efficiently. Precious seconds and minutes of the Botez's videos are used for things other than academic chess information, so those who watch the Botez"s are watching for more than just a strict interest in chess techniques and strategy.

My understanding: He just went down a piece, on the back foot with a disorganised position. The bishop is stuck, the rook is ineffective, the pawn is pinned and the Queen is under threat. Meanwhile Andrea had three active pieces including the bishop pair, and can basically own the whole board.

@@GeorgeFoot I don't know about that, the white bishop can take her pawn and threaten black rook in one shot, and white has a queen and rook on open files that could go down or defend, I would've played it out. Yeah black is better but you know what I mean.

I wouldn't go so far as to say that. I honestly don't think that her trash talk, good as it is, had any affect on his game. The outcome is exactly the same as it would have been if they had each been completely silent.

@@TomReichner I don't have a clue as to what the outcome of a silent game would have been and I am not really interested. What I find fairly appalling is how being rude and insulting, coupled with verbal and visual intimidation while playing chess, can be considered entertainment. The girl is young and fairly attractive, and the guy looks like he has been around the blocks a few times in the land of hard knocks, and there is one snide remark after the other pouring out of the beauty to show the contents of her inside world and how much of a smart ass she can be. The guy tries to not get into it too deeply with a beautiful kid, because he sees her as vulnerable, and then she goes for his jugular in what is for him, the most aggressive and potent way with her poser jibe, and man, did that hurt. It almost brought tears to the guys eyes, and mine when I felt his pain for him, while little miss look how smart mouthed I am, just carried on insulting the guy as if she had every right in the world to be causing such pain. I couldn't care less who won the chess match. What I wonder is how the beautiful girl, and maybe her parents and sister, felt when they saw how badly she had hurt the guy, and whether she ever apologised for hurting him in this way off camera. Rude names hurt, some more than others and for each it is a different trigger., but in my world, watching others in pain or causing others pain is not entertainment.
