Rampage should not be looked up to as a player who is doing it right. He promoted shady app games on GG and poker bros which he funnels new players into to get canabalized by excess rake; breaking TOS not to mention the law. Normalizing excess rake and fleecing his audience. But I guess more rake is better.

Yeah, if Phil was really hard up he'd have sold his place in Palo Alto. He needs to live near there because his wife works at Stanford, but he could move to San Jose and realize a nice profit. Median home price in San Jose is around $1.02M, but in Palo Alto it's more like $3.5M, and Phil likely doesn't live in a median house.

For anyone with ongoing access to non-poker money they're willing to put on the poker table win or lose, the concept of a bankroll doesn't even come into their mind unless they're a student of the game. Does Nik seem like a student of the game to you? I'm not saying he doesn't think about how to play a hand or play a player, I'm saying he doesn't care enough about the money to get a firm grip on what his bankroll-related statistics really are, and use that to adjust the stakes/games he plays to keep his poker activities strictly funded by his poker activities. The same could be said of Rampage's bankroll management. He is willing to spend KZfaq income and other income/assets to replace bankroll, or sell action when his bankroll is down, rather than drop back down to grinding lower stakes.
