It's because of the rules not because of the quality of teams and players. NBA rules favor offensive plays, in Europe game is more defensively oriented and there is no 3 second rule in the paint so the lanes are not as opened as they are in the NBA.

@@tunage8354 Luka is my favorite player right now so I most definitely watch the games. His defense will never be elite he's just way too slow for tgat to happen. Yes he can play some pretty good defense from time to time. Like how he had the game sealing block the other night, but that one block doesn't tell the full story. Luka has been getting burned all playoffs on the perimeter and that's not just because of his knee. I've been watching him get burned all year. He's a pretty good defender 10ft in as he's very shifty and pretty strong so he can bang, but he's just way too slow. Plus his effort is nowhere near good enough on defense, him and Jokic both. I get tired of watching them just watch defenders. Luka should not be in anyone's got debate. He's one of the most gifted players I've ever seen, and will more than likely end up a top 10-20 player all time, but offense alone should never be enough to get you in the goat debate. You have to be ELITE on both ends

Speed isn't the be all and end all of defensive prowess. he may not try as hard during the regular season but don't go making like the man doesn't make a significant defensive impact. Also, he's still in the early stages of his career, so it's a bold statement to suggest he's not capable of making the grade in your personal opinion when his story has barely begun. Michael Jordan was criticised for his lack of defence back in the day, so he went ahead and won the DPOY award just to call out the naysayers. Don't be a naysayer.

@@szobione He is 6'6 and 3/4 with no shoes. He is tall. But not as tall as you think. LBJ is a real 6'9 guy, look at any images of him and Luka together. Luka is shorter. However he is clearly taller than MJ for example. Other good measurement is the one they do the first time they go to the Olympics. On that measurement Luka is 202cm. LBJ is 205. MJ was 199. Those are with shoes.

@@EduSanjuan777 Wherever I check for Luka's height, I always get 201cm, which is almost exactly 6'7 bare foot. Now, the Nike I play is 1 inch, so if he is 6'7 and uses any modern Basketball shoes, he is 6'8.

Luka is a great player and I love watching him play, but he is no Larry Bird. I love sports and basketball was my favorite to play. I'm almost 60 yrs old so I had the fortune to watch Larry whenever the Celtics were on TV back in the 80s. Luka is a very good shooter but Larry was a great shooter. The difference is great shooters know when to shoot and when not to for the benefit of the team. The thing is, virtually every NBA player who's good enough to play in the NBA is a very good shooter or else you would have never made it into the NBA. What also separates Larry from Luka is Larry never took a play off. Larry was always focused on every second he was on the court. Larry played every second on the court like it was his last. Only that competitiveness and desire that Larry exhibited allows for some of the greatest attributes of these amazing athletes to come into play like the old adage of making your own luck.

Luka plays nothing like Bird. The only comparison is their skin tone. They play nothing alike. His help defense is bad (Bird’s strength) and he dribbles too much. (Bird’s weakness) As far as accomplishments, Bird won a title his second year (age 25 season) then 3-peated the MVP in his 6th-8th years in the league (ages 28-30) while winning 2 more titles. Jokic plays more like Bird then Luka. Big,slow, plays at his own tempo. Great passer, great help D but not so much 1 v 1 D. But he’s less legendary. In the time it took Jokic to defend his 1st title in the league, Larry had 3 titles and 3 MVP’s (year 8, age 30). And to do it by age 30, Jokic has to 3-peat.
