I’ve had one of these for sometime now. Often use it on the go when travelling in my 4wd. Never had an issue. Made locally here in Bendigo, rippen bloke to boot. 😊👍🏻🤙🏻

Aussie made was definitely a massive reason we went with this unit. Hope we get down there one day 👍🏽

I’ve had one for a couple of years and I love it. Slow roast beef for 4 hours, magnificent. I wouldn’t bother trying to get it to run hotter, just plan for things to take longer. Slow cooked always better. Even heating a pie is better done slowly. I have 300ah lithium set up so running for hours while parked is no problem. It only draws 10a. Having said that, I’ve just started exploring air fryers and the results are pretty good. There are some KZfaq videos out there on setups where people have ditched the travel buddy and just using air fryers (inverter required).

I’ve been looking into the same ideas and the air fryer setups are definitely tempting. I reckon I’ll be looking to do that whenever I can afford the extra couple hundred amp hours and inverter 😂

Had one in the RV for about 4 years. Quite often put things in there while we're driving and when the good smells waft all though the home pull up and eat. You'd be surprised at what you can cook. Even did a Christmas turkey ( 2 pieces only ) wit vegies one year. I love the stove

Hi, good video. I wondered how hot the outside of the oven gets. I will be running it in the back of my 4WD.

Hi Anita, doesn’t get very hot at all. The insulation on the top and sides of the unit does a great job keeping the surfaces fairly cool. The door however does get very hot so that might be something to watch out for 👍🏽

I reckon those temperatures would get higher if that front door was insulated. I can just imagine all the heat pouring out from it, wasting all your amps from the battery. Certainly needs improving. Thanks for a really informative video mate.

No worries mate, hoping to re-test eventually with an insulated door.

Put in a step up 14v converter. $50. Ish. Will improve times and heat range. Won't punish ya battery as much. It's a warmer more than any thing. Yes you can bake in it. How ever I would not do that at camp. I would do it in transit. That way there should not be a problem power wise. Pies sausage rolls. Pizza blah blah are good, dishes

Thanks for the suggestion Davi. I've heard the step up transformers are a good way to up the efficiency. I've added the Victron DCDC Charger that can be used as a variable voltage power supply so I'm going to give this a test and see what the results are on a big drive.

Have you seen the 15v step up mid for these, improves the performance a lot from what I have seen. Cheers 🍻

Hey mate, I've just started looking into these and they look pretty good. Wouldn't mind doing a temp test if I end up getting one.

Gets pretty warm mate. Don’t have a temp gun to check but definitely too hot to hold you hand to.
