This is one of the best tourism commercials. I've lived in Washington long enough to be a Washingtonian, but Oregon is my native state and I will always enjoy going back.

We are so lucky to live here. Within a couple hours you can be at the beach, mountains, Alvord desert, Mighty Columbia, Snake River, Owyhee Canyonlands, Dark Sky Park. The four corners of Oregon: Portland for food, Art, trails, bikes, beer, dog’s welcome! South to Ashland for Oregon Shakespeare festivals. Then East to the Alvord Desert. Around to NE corner is Wallowa Lake Tramway for beautiful views. Don’t forget Crater Lake & Bend! We ARE lucky! (Tax free , keeping it weird)

This is the worst travel commercial I have ever seen. What this commercial should have said was “visit Portland” just because we say keep Portland weird doesn’t mean the commercial has to feel like a children’s show. There’s more to Oregon that meets the eye but the commercial barely shows anything.

Hey Travel Oregon, how about a sort of Oregon esoteria bingo card? From toy horses chained to random curbs, to Bob the Boulder in Bend, or a clear reference to the last Blockbuster in existence, or nods to The Goonies, Rambo, Kindergarten Cop, Overboard, McMenamins, the naked bike ride, Michael Curry Productions (Lion King), Laika, or red cinder golf course sand traps, the PDX carpet, Burnside skatepark, the creation of the Marionberry, treehouse hotels, more Oregon Trail Game jokes, the nation of Cascadia, @Saipancakes insane pancake art, an internationally known quilt show of all things, wild horse herds or moose sightings etc. You could easily wink at the trademarked IP and play it safe if needed
