25th August 2020 and with my big son David we travel from Northampton to Tamworth for a good freight session with one or two annoying mishaps .

Thanks for the video Keith, it gets pretty boring around here without your trips to far flung places to brighten this lockdown up! Sadly those Class 315's are for the scrap, all will be replaced by 2021 so I read. Keep up the good work, looking forward to your next trip. Regards to all, Ian.

The Coaching stock you saw on your way out of Northampton are Class 315s. The ones with Blue doors were used by TfL Rail on London Liverpool St to Shenfield services, the ones with Orange doors were used by the London Overground on services to/ from London Liverpool St

Hi Mark, I use 2 Cannon G7X. they sit side by side on a home made bracket so while I am shooting video I can take still shots.

If it weren't for bad luck you'd have none at all as they say :-) I'd still be pretty happy with that little lot though, even if you did miss a couple and your connection. All's well that ends well.

Thank you Keith for the video. I hope this is not a daft question but do you know why so many of the container carriages on some of the freight trains are empty?

yes. it all depends what's unloaded off the ships, like from china. The train is a set consist and has a set time slot so runs no matter how many 'boxes' are unloaded from the ship. hope this is helpful.

dont keep count Marc but the best time is about half eleven till 3 from my experience and you have to be really quick to capture all workings on both levels,

Might have got off to a bad first half but how rare is it to see Ros Les in full? Usually something in the way. On my last train trip to Rugby I looked for the Ilford coaching stock but nothing. You got 4 sets!
