Very nice Keith, a proper bit of history there with the entire Anglia fleet having been replaced with brand new units since then - lots of their cast-offs going to EMR of course! Of course back then we would've took all this for granted, so shows the importance of keeping records.

15:43 today all the 90s are no longer here in Anglia they have been replaced by the new 755 units for greater Anglia services

I was born in Peterborough and spent many hours at Marholm crossing when there were 2 sets of crossing gates and you could spend ages until the gates opened again to the road traffic.

The first railtour I ever travelled on was in June 28th 2008 when royal Scot’s grey took me to Penzance from Birmingham new street with the title of the tour called the Cornish explorer And that occurred exactly a month before you joined this tour the Cumbrian mountain express which took you from Wellingborough to Carnforth via the settle and Carlisle line

I lived in Whittlesey (Spelled differently to the station name) for 4 years, 1969 to 73, working for the local council. I used that crossing to visit the manager of the sewage works. Good thing is - I have no sense of smell!
