[SUBTITLES IN ENGLISH] During my recent trip to Belgium, I spent a beautiful day with my father while riding our bicycles in the countryside. Just like in the Netherlands and Denmark, every Belgian person knows how to ride a bike. Most children go to school by bike and many people go to work by bike as well. Of course, having no mountains makes it much easier to ride a bicycle, but riding a bicycle is also quite safe, so it's just a fun thing to do! Did you know that Belgium is part of a region called 'the Low Countries'? The Low Countries are so called because much of their land along the North Sea coast is either below sea level or just slightly above it. Natural sand dunes and a system of man-made sea walls and dikes protect the area from flooding. My father and I rode our bikes to Damme, a small city close to Bruges. Even though it's winter, the weather was really nice. We had crepes in a small restaurant and drank some local Belgian beer. When you visit Belgium, you should definitely try the "Brugse Zot' beer. It is delicious! Next time I really want to ride a bicycle with my husband as well. It is the perfect way to see the beautiful fields and canals of the Flemish countryside.
